(1) anything but purple or red, my doc was find with blue and that is what I drank (2) I would say no to the smoothie since it has real food pureed in it. You need to be strickly liquid (from what I have been told) and that will bulk up what you are trying to remove. (3) no advice on the enema, I didn't have to do that step

This the gist of what I would say. I did only apple juice w/ the powder prep the first time and was practically sick of it towards the end, so the second time I did 1/2 orange gatorade the first part and 1/2 blue gatorade the latter part (I was told blue was OK).
I don't think the smoothie would qualify as "clear liquid" which is what I was told only to have the day before. No creamer, dairy, pulp of any kind, or carbonation. I think you could do a smoothie tonight and be fine, but definitely not for dinner tomorrow if you are having the procedure on Friday.
I also did not have to do #3. I did 4 pills and 2 small cartons of miralax powder and that was enough. I do recommend using flushable wet wipes instead of TP... helps keep things from drying out and easier on the tush.
No enema is good. I mean, unless you happen to like enemas? Seriously, they all seem just as awful from the times I've had to use one. I think the brand my doctors reco'd was Fleet.

I could eat light meals until midnight the two nights pre-colonoscopy. I just couldn't eat at all the day before (other than broth & jello) and then started the prep at 4pm that afternoon. I had my scope done at 10:30 on a Friday (the first time), so I ate normal food wednesday, didn't eat thursday, started prep, then did the test on Friday. They told you not to eat today?
To clarify I was asking about a smoothie tonight....my prep is tomorrow, procedure Friday. But the nurse said orange was OK so I got some vitamin water in orange and lemonade flavor. I was told to do the enema only if I am not running clear early Friday morning.
I already feel weak barely eating today. The idea of not eating much of anything for the next two days is killing me, so I need to focus on something else.
I also had my procedure on a Friday (4pm) and I could not eat anything after 5pm on Wednesday, so I definitely wouldn't do the smoothie tonight.
I know there are individual differences, but I felt tired and less focused but never weak, even after almost 48 hours of fasting (I only did water, apple juice, and gatorade because I forgot to buy gluten free chicken broth or jello). Are you dehydrated? Be careful! Gatorade is your friend.

Just want to say good luck today and tomorrow, I'm crossing my fingers that everything is smoother than last time for you and you can get this all done without any complications. Let us know if you need a distraction or pick-me-up while you are going through the fast today.

1. Any color except red and purple is fine. Blue and green should be fine too, did they tell you you couldn't drink anything blue or green? FWIW I used orange and blue gatorade.
2. No, like PPs said, too much fiber. Definitely not a clear liquid. Even if you're not on clear liquids at that point, I would still avoid it. All that fiber will hurt coming out.
3. I've used Fleet. I'm pretty sure they will all suck equally.
GL with your prep! Hope everything goes as well as it can. And don't forget to buy butt wipes.

It's normal to have anxiety over these things, feel free to vent as much as you need! We have all either been through it ourselves or something similar if we are on this board, so I know I'm happy to help in any way I can.
I'm glad you are feeling fine so far, and so glad to hear you have better prep instructions to make it easier this time.
I was clear the night before, but then that morning I wasn't. I was nervous that they couldn't do it, but they actually complimented me on how well I prepped. lol
UPDATE: I made it through! My prep was excellent and they found no polyps, but he did biopsy a few areas (no clue why) and he said I have a turbulent colon (whatever that means). I will have my next visit within the month to discuss results and a way forward. For now I was given an anti spasmatic drug to take at night.
Yay!! I'm so glad your prep worked, woohoo! They almost always take biopsies when they do a colonoscopy, it's to check for microscopic changes that you can't see with the naked eye. They usually take a few biopsies from certain parts of the intestine, and then they biopsy anything that doesn't look normal.
I hope the new drug works and that you get some answers soon.
Sorry, but one more question! How long until you had normal poop again...or at least not having the water faucet ass? I can't tolerate a lot of foods, and I'm not even eating anything adventurous!
At least the bleeding and awful cramps finally went away! Huge positive there!
Sorry you're still having diarrhea It probably depends on the prep. For me, I was back to "normal" (well, I was really sick at the time, lol) within a day, I think. Try to drink a lot of water so you don't get too dehydrated!
