Am I a wimp or are braxton hicks supposed to be painful? I have been so uncomfortable for the past two days that I can't imagine this going on for the next 4 weeks. I only have about 3-4 BH's per hour but after 2 full days it is starting to wear on me. I had no braxton hicks with my son and was induced at 41 weeks so I have no idea if this is normal or if it is something I should call my OB about.

With each pregnancy they can come sooner, harder, and more often. If you are already drinking lots of water, you might try calcium. Low calcium can be a cause. Last pregnancy I had painful BH starting at 28 weeks and they continued until I delivered at 39.

I have also been having BX cntrax which I did not have with my daughter....I called my doctor and was told that as long as there werent more than 6 in an hour I was in the clear. But, if your instinct tells you differently then I'd at least call.
I had a ton of B-H in the last month or so of both pregnancies. While they were not painful in the way that actual labor is painful, they were definitely uncomfortable. I was always just told to lay down, drink water, and call if I had more than 6 in an hour.
Ditto the PPs. Mine were definitely extremely uncomfortable, but they weren't outright painful. It never hurts to put a call into the OB, but make sure you're keeping your feet up and drinking plenty of water when you feel them come on.
With my second, I had a BH every.single.time that I stood up or even changed positions, starting at about 20 weeks.
They mostly bother me when I am up and walking around. I have an OB appointment on Wednesday so I will just try to take it easy tomorrow and ask about it at the appointment. I never have more than 6 in a hour so that makes me feel much better.
