Can someone tell me more about what this is and what it does for you?
I usually workout in the morning and have thick curly hair that I usually wash every 2 days or so because it will frizz the heck out if I do wash it everyday. But I feel yucky throughout the day if I'm like on day 2 without washing and getting all head sweaty. Will this help with that?
I use cheap - o Tresemme and it works great! You spray it onto your roots, brush it and go! My roots get greasy, so it stops the shine and freshens the smell.
So I sweat a LOT. Like after any amount of workout I have to shower because I look like I went swimming. But on days I do not workout and therefore do not shower, I add some dry shampoo in the am. I use a powder kind, which if I use too much makes my (dark) hair look a little gray (so you need to be careful!) but it absorbs the grease. It is great in between showers. I have tried spray ones too, but they did not work as well (though they smell better, so I often use both, one for actually absorbing grease, one for the "just showered" smell).

I will use baby powder when I am looking like I should have shampoo'd. I usually apply it to my hands and then into my roots. I only shampoo every 2-3 days and have wavy hair.

I've used both Tresseme and Suave. No preference, and the Suave is typically cheaper. I use it every other day so that I'm not shampooing too often and drying out my hair.
Yes, it can leave white stuff. You're supposed to spray it on, then use the warmth of your hands to "melt" it by scrunching your hair before you brush it out. I've got dark brown hair and when I'm done you don't see the white anymore. It leaves my hair smelling better and gives it some body between washes.
I also have curly hair that can become a hot mess.
shauni27 I've tried the tresemme spray and it left a weird whiteness that I had to rub out. Is it only for lighter hair? Maybe I need the powder.
I have dark hair and have not had this problem--after I first spray it does live like a mist that you can see, but it says to shake and rub out your hair 2 minutes after you spray, so once I do that it goes away. The powder in my opinion (for my dark hair) leaves more of a whiteness than the spray.
I've tried the tresemme and suave and prefer the suave. I've also used baby powder with both blonde and brunette hair and it works without showing on both.
It definitely helps with looking less greasy, but I still think my hair feels dirty. Not like, dirty to the touch, just that I am aware all day that I'm not shampoo'd. So if you're icked out by how it feels in that way, it may not help.
This is totally true. I do the cornstarch thing if I am camping or backpacking and can't conveniently take a shower. It at least makes it look ok to other people and not look gross in all of our vacation pictures and stuff like that, but my head definitely still feels grungy.
I use either cornstarch or baby powder sprinkled on the roots and combed through.
Ditto. I like to keep a travel-size bottle (?) of baby powder in my car and gym bag so I never have an excuse for greasies. If I can run a straightener through my hair and touch up the edges, I can completely replicate a i-woke-up-and-did-my-hair-this-morning look, otherwise I throw it in a ponytail and it least it looks/feels clean.
'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming 'Woohoo! What a ride!' So every day is a holiday and every meal a feast."
I highlight my hair which causes dryness/damage. I feel like if I dont wash it everyday then there is less dryness/breakage. I try to wash every 2-3 days but I will have to wash my hair if I run because I sweat a lot. I use corn starch. It works fine for my dark brown/black hair even if I don't mix cocoa powder. I apply it using a big makeup brush (like for face powder) which gives me control on the amount going into my hair as well as placement.
Yes my hair does still feel grungy but I can put it up in a ponytail and get through the day without looking all greasy at my roots.
