What are you up to this weekend? If you're going to (or hosting) a BBQ, got any recipes to share?
Tonight, R is finishing the upstairs bathroom and I'll put the last coat of paint on the downstairs vanity. We'll also be patching the walls here in my office, so that I can paint tomorrow. Tomorrow I'm painting the guest bedroom/office. Sunday I'm headed to the bay area. R will be finishing the upstairs flooring (I HOPE) and installing the guest bedroom vanity. Monday, we're painting the kitchen walls.
Our intern/renter shows up today! My first Montanan (Montanaian??). I stalked him online and found a picture. He is, in fact, not wearing a cowboy hat in the picture I found. Shattered my preconceptions about Montana
Sat. morning we're having a brunch at our house for the neighbors.
I cannot believe that you just wrote "headed to the bay area" without mentioning why. I know, you just didn't want everyone else to be jealous, right? I get to hang out with mrs.jacinthe and ktzmoh on Sunday!
Monday is the neighborhood wide yard sale. The stuff is usually lame, but I did get a nearly-new chest freezer one year for $60, so we'll probably at least wander around a little.

We're taking an impromptu mini-vacation. Saturday we're driving about 2.5 hrs and exploring another city neither of us has ever been to. Sunday, we'll move to another hotel room in another city; Monday we'll come home. The agenda is full of museums, flea markets, outlet malls, and botanical gardens. And of course, restaurants.
This afternoon I need to groom dogs. And do more laundry.
We are going to visit DH's aunt tomorrow, and come home Sunday. She is letting us bring the dogs to her normally 'no pet' house. They just sold their home in Naples (FL), and I guess since all of their stuff has been slowing disappearing from the house (first depersonalizing for sale, and now down scaling/packing for their move to a community for old people), they aren't as worried about all of the precious stuff and dogs or kids damaging things. I want the dogs to be nice and clean and not look scruffy.
We get to go to Trader Joe's (boy have we missed that, since there isn't one here yet), and she is giving us all of her Le Crueset cookware, her KA mixer and who knows what else. I would love the Bohemia crystal bowl that matches the candy dish they gave me the last time I visited, but I am not holding my breath. I actually have to watch what I compliment, because they have a tendency to give you things you admire. They have a lot of beautiful things, that I appreciate but don't necessarily want, so I have to be extra careful not to appreciate anything too much, unless I actually want it.lol
The rest of the weekend will be a little unpacking and hopefully finding some time trying to organize the boxes in a way that makes sense and makes it easier to find things.
We have unofficial plans, meaning things we would like to do but aren't tied down to anything.
-Go to the movies, we want to see Fast6 and Hangover3. Fast6 is the winner between the two when it comes to both of us gear heads. -Til the garden and finally get everything in the ground. -Put poles around the garden. We have tar covered telephone poles at the farm that we aren't using so we are going to cut them down and frame the garden with them so that someone doesn't accidentally mow my watermelons this year. -Cousins graduation party @3 on Saturday (only thing that is scheduled)
Otherwise I'm up for anything, anywhere, that doesn't cost a ton of money.

LOL, got it in one.
If you're really that disappointed about no cowboy hats, let me know. I have one I bought in Luckenbach when we lived in Texas and I don't get enough opportunities (read: none) to wear it. I'd be happy to bring it along.
We have a short list, but it's not going to be fun: -Pull out hedges from front yard (they're 60 years old, half dead, and blocking our already tiny walkway) -Install rain barrels -Empty out the Family Room -Gather/Drop off donations -Plant stuff
Haha, are you proposing that you will wear the hat on Sunday or that you will bring it and I should force the intern to walk around in it? This would be a great opportunity to wear it since we'll be outside. I'm planning to wear my massive grass hat on Sunday. My skin doesn't like bright sun.

Well, this is an interesting idea. But no, I meant that I'd bring mine along and for the exact reason you mentioned - I'm not great with sun, either (which is a problem, since pretty much my entire summer is spent outside). I'm going to make a strange picture getting on the train with my purse, a cowboy hat, and a planter. LOL
My mom is coming for the weekend so I'm excited to get my pots planted tomorrow. I also am going to get things together for M's 2nd birthday. DH and I are going to go to a baseball game too, which should be fun!
sunday we are going to a former classmate of DH's for his 2 kids birthday party. the kids will be swimming and playing with water toys. can't believe i've gone all this time (DS is 3.3 years old) and we haven't ever gotten DS a squirt gun before.
maybe it is b/c DH doesn't know to ask and b/c i'm 1 week from having my baby girl, but i didn't even ask DH if we are supposed to bring anything to share. better make sure before we show up w/only gifts for the kids and bellies ready to eat everyone else's food. DOH!
