That doesn't seem bad for a flight that long. Flights to smaller airports are often more. I cannot find a flight to my parents' house in WI for less than $500 from Boston.
Depending on where you need to go, check out the Akron airport, it may be cheaper. If you dont mind the drive, try Columbus, Toledo and/or even Detroit.
You aren't looking at flights for Burke Lakefront Airport by any chance, it's a small airport right on Lake Erie. The big airport is Cleveland Hopkins.
No we were looking at Hopkins. I was avoiding renting a car while we were there, but if it would save $$ I could look at Akron. My family lives in Independance, Valley View area.

I would stick with the Cleveland airport. But that's only because I wouldn't want to drive that far after getting off the plane.
That was like when we were looking for a flight to Oklahoma City last summer, the flights were in the $600 range, no joke, very frustrating. We couldn't figure out why! I checked out some area airports and it was almost half as much to fly into Wichita. So that's what we did, and we got the cheapest rental car possible to drive the 2 hours to OKC.
I think Cleveland flights are expensive from everywhere. They pop up in my fare trackers from time to time and are always around $400 from Detroit. I'm not sure why anyone would pay that from Detroit when it is only a couple hour drive.
Would it be possible for you to fly into a cheaper airport and rent a car to drive to Cleveland? Because honestly, I don't think you are going to get them any cheaper.
