Saturday - The ILs wanted to go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then we went to visit our friend who sells homes in a new development on the water. Fell in love with the community and toured a few of the houses. It is totally out of our price range, but it gave us the incentive to have a 4y plan to get out of our current house. Walked around Annapolis/Naval Academy and went for an early dinner and then home so I could set up the ILs new Fitbits.
Sunday - L took MIL to urgent care because she wasn't feeling well while I started culling books and the clothes in their closet. ILs decided to leave early and break up their trip home since MIL was sick. We took the Metro and went down to Rolling Thunder and then walked down to the WW2 Memorial before going back to Columbia Heights and eating at Petes. YUMMY. L and I stayed up and watched all of the Big C episodes.
Monday - Went to Wegmans early (it was stocked with food and empty of people!) and then went to a Bowie Baysox game with friends. My kids have no interest in baseball and were a mess, which pissed L off. Got ready for the week, the kids got into bed at 7 and were asleep by 7:45 and L was asleep before 8:30. I stayed up watching the Liberace movie on HBO.
Friday - Movie with the kids, dropped A off at her dads house.
Saturday - We had the IL's over, J grilled, the kids played on the slip n slide. Owl's behavior was awful and she vomited 3 or 4 times meaning that I was in the house most of the day watching her clean it up and showering her, I put her to bed early so I could have some stress free time with the other kids and J. J started a fire in the fire pit and we relaxed outside, I mentioned that a glass of wine would be perfect and she came back with champagne (no wine in the house). It was so nice to relax and not worry about anything, the day really wound me up and I needed some peace.
Sunday - I hung out at home with the kids, played outside, naps, laundry, a movie. We had dinner at Souplantation and stopped for frozen yogurt on the way home.
Monday - Lifted weights in the morning. Another day of laundry and hanging out with the kids.

It was pretty good. We decided that since it was a holiday weekend and I had 3 days home with the boy we would work on potty training, so that's what I spent my weekend doing. He did really well, better than I was hoping and only had 2 accidents each day on Saturday and Sunday. We were even able to venture out of the house twice on Sunday for a quick shopping trip (he and I to BRU) and out to dinner (all three of us) without any accidents.
My mom and I took him to the zoo yesterday and that was a little harder, he was in pull-ups the whole time but the automatic flush toilets freaked him out, I need to get a pack of post-its to keep in my bag. He used the potty once while we were there and tried a few other times, but he did have a couple of accidents. Then my sister came over for dinner and we had a fire and made s'mores, and he had a little accident then, too. But overall not too bad!
Saturday the babies got up super-early and refused to go back down, so we were all eating breakfast by 6:30. We finished packing while they fought naps and then I ran them over to my parents' while Jen did some errands and picked up the house. We were on the road with iced lattes by 1:30. The drive out was beautiful and we were settled in our cabin by 3:15, and we walked around the property and took books up to the hammocks in the woods to read for a while. Afterward we drove into town and wandered around before having pizza and beer at a brewery. Back to the cabin to hang out - including a delicious hot bath.
Sunday morning it was a little rainy so we played Scrabble and had coffee on the porch and watched the clouds. Once it warmed up we spent the day just exploring the Gorge - found a gorgeous waterfall, stopped for burgers, did a wildflower hike. On the way home we picked up snacks to eat later. Had a couples massage in the cabin that evening, then relaxed eating our snacks, playing Yahtzee, reading magazines and just enjoying the peace.
On Monday morning we had breakfast and I laid in the tub and read a magazine - I didn't want to leave. Packed up around 11a and drove home, had lunch with my parents and the babies, and spent the rest of the day doing boring non-vacation things like grocery shopping. It was an amazing weekend for both of us.

Friday: My parents arrived and we had take and bake pizza and relaxed after a busy week.
Saturday: My dad got up around 5:20 to take their dog out. He made so much noise that it woke E, so at 5:25am she was staring down at me. Sigh. She crawled in with me, but never went back to sleep and I laid there trying desperately to sleep but no dice. So we were up for the day early. My dad and E and I went to brunch at a new pancake place near our house where the wait was long but the food was awesome. Afterwards I went to Costco by myself and got things for our family birthday dinner for E. We had Copper River salmon, my mom's potato salad, a fresh berry/yogurt fruit salad, and corn on the cob. E and I baked her cake and frosted it with blue and pink stripes. My brother/SIL/nephew came over for dinner. Afterwards E opened her gifts and I got the exact surprised reaction to her blue bedazzled cowgirl boots I was hoping for. Yay!
Sunday: E got up early with my dad and let me sleep in. We made breakfast and then the folks left around noon. E and I called her dad about picking up E's old dresser for his place and then she invited him to join us at the theater to see Epic. So we went to the movie and then just E and I had dinner out.
Monday: A massive toy and book purge! E and I went through all of her toys and books and she decided what to keep and what to donate. Then we worked on better organizing them and as soon as I get a chance to pick up a few more storage bin things at Target, it will be done. Now if only she could help me organize my paperwork! E had been asking about Memorial Day throughout the weekend since they had talked about it at school. We have a large national cemetery near us, so E called to ask her dad (ex-Marine) about going there. He was as surprised as I was at her questions/interest. So we went to the cemetery and saw all the flags and though I'm not sure how much she yet understands, I think the exposure and just general conversation about it was good.

Saturday we flew back from Charleston, where we had been vacationing all week. We took my sisters out to dinner since they had picked us up for both airport trips.
Sunday I felt kind of hungover, but I think it was morning sickness (obviously not a hangover). I spent most of the day lying around; otherwise I managed to go grocery shopping, do laundry, and make dinner and considered that an accomplishment.
Monday I met Kershnic for lunch!!! First meeting ever! Made dinner and prepped our lunches for the week. That's about it.
I left straight from a work event on Friday in the Bronx that ended early afternoon to go up to MA. Took me 6 hours of sitting in the Connecticut parking lot, but I got there before my nephews were in bed.
Saturday we went out to breakfast and then my sister and I took my nephews to music class and then home for lunch and then to the Y for free swim. BIL made us dinner and then left us to spend the evening alone.
Sunday my sister and I took the boys to gymnastics lessons and then I sat outside and watched them play most of the afternoon. I read my book for a bit on the side of the sandbox.
Monday I got to meet ballandchain!! We had a lovely lunch out, and then I went back to my sister's for a early evening BBQ. And then I endured the traffic again and drove home to get ready for this 2 day work week. One more work day to go.
