Next Food Network Star starting this week - thoughts?

Ugh, I can't believe Danushka is going to be a contestant. I hope she gets eliminated early. She really annoys me. 

I also remember Chris Hodgson being kind of a jerk on Great Food Truck Race, especially to his sister and GF. 

I haven't seen Chad Rosenthal on anything, but I live in his area now, so I'm interested in what he does. 

I remember Stacey Poon's episode of Restaurant Impossible vaguely. Interesting that they brought her on after being featured on show that sometimes paints owners and chefs in a negative light.

Russell Jackson and Viet Pham seem to be the chefs to beat.

Blah blah blah, it's so hard to be a model who decides to work in the food industry, blah blah blah. It would be the worst food network show ever. No one wants to watch models or talk about models right after watching Paula Deen!

I feel like she was one of the most memorable Chopped contestants because when I told my husband she was going to be on Next Food Network Star he rolled his eyes too, and he rarely remembers anyone.

I don't think I saw her episode but having that as her claim to fame doesn't really make me have faith in her!

This show is dead to me ever since the first season, when Guy Fieri beat out Reggie the flamboyant huge black dude (who was awesome).

Now the world laughs at what a douche Guy Fieri is.

I watched the first episode on demand last night. Danushka needs to DIAF. She's boring, full of herself, and cooks horrible food. And the way her mouth moves when she talks makes me want to punch her. A lot.

Danushka is a pill. Unfortunately, I see them keeping her for at least a couple more weeks for drama.
Does anyone else think Stacy looks familiar? I think I saw her on an episode of Restaurant Impossible a while back. She ran a brunch place and was $200k in debt to her dad because the restaurant wasn't making enough money, but didn't want to stay open for dinner because she wanted to spend time with her kids. I wonder if that will come up later in the season if she sticks around.

That's the same Stacy. Her dad cashed out his retirement for her to piss it away on a failing restaurant that she wouldn't devote any effort to. She sucks. I hope they bring it up. 

Danushka is kind of growing on me. I think she's totally obnoxious and there for drama and eventual cannon fodder, but she has a subtle way of snarking on the show and on others. I can appreciate that.

She'll be the contestent who hates everyone and everyone will hate her, but she's also hot. She'll cause tension on the show and the producers think people will watch just to see if she's eliminated. Kind of a love-to-hate-her thing. That's the only reason she's survived 2 eliminations because she SUCKS. But because she sucks, she'll get kicked out by the top 5 at least. 

Um, I'm glad Chad is doing well? Just because he's from the area I now live in and is opening a restaurant around here soon.

I love how everyone's still calling the show NFNS, even though FN officially dropped the "Next" last year, meaning this is the second season it's being called Food Network Star. Every time I see the ads I scream "NEXT! NEXT!" (Or "Never-Will-Be?")

Oh yeah, Danushka is totally being kept around for the drama factor. No one would watch a show with her and she has no potential. Andres wouldn't have won either, but he had potential and I would have liked to see him stick around over her.

Finally the right decision was made on who to eliminate.

Chris from Cleveland was a lot more likeable in last night's episode.
