No idea. Look at delayed cord clamping, though, especially if there's no need to donate. That's what we did. I figure the baby probably has the most use for that blood.

i haven't heard that, but could be.... I would not take the doc's word for it though - many docs have no clue what they are talking about (i'm a drug rep and talk to them all day long).
i would call the banks that take donations in your area and find out. We donated my older son's. I would have donated the twins but they don't take it from twins b/c they don't get enough for it to be worth it.
The national progam's website doesn't indicate anything like that. I have a hard time believing that they would turn away prospective donors- that would be like turning away blood donors of a specific type just b/c there isn't a shortage in that type. Anyway the website has some good info
