that my nerves aren't completely frayed .....
we're in the process of weaning dd off of her morning 'milkie' ... yesterday morning she pitched a fit and i caved and gave her a half milk. this morning she pitched another fit and didn't get any (she gets milk w/ her breakfast at dcp and at dinner). i had having to be the mean mommie .. ESPECIALLY in the morning !!

she's at the point where's she's getting too much - milk before breakfast (8oz), milk w/ breakfast (in her cereal), at naptime (8oz) and at bedtime (8oz)and then the days she's at dcp milk w/ lunch and/or snack too. we're cutting out one but leaving the rest.
i realize that too much might not be a bad thing but when she's getting that in addition to cheese, yogurt, etc. you start to wonder.

we're not cutting out anything completely - just cutting back one 8oz serving of liquid milk. she LOVES LOVES LOVES her cheese and yogurt so i'm not worried, she's still getting her reccomended amt calcium. it'll be an adjustment for HER and MY nerves until she's used to the new set-up.

I'm confused too. I can understand not wanting her to drink a ton of milk daily- we give DD a small glass with meals, then refills are water- but why not just give her smaller portions. This doesn't seem worth the headache.
Or you can water it down? I understand not wanting to give too much milk so they actually eat other food and not fill up on just milk.
its fat free which means its pretty watery as is ... yes filling up on milk rather than food has been a struggle. if we'd let her, she'd probably drink milk all.day.long.
I agree with pp. Seems like it would be much easier on both of you if you just gave her the same number of servings throughout the day, but in smaller amounts.
