I just bought This bracket that fits all of my profile design aero bottles. In the past I've just used the rubber bands to attach them to my aerobars, but I wanted a bracket because it bounces around a lot.
BUT, I can't get it installed because the loops that attach to my habdlebars are too wide to fit in between my aerobars. It is like a millimeter too tight.
Would you move your aerobars out just a hair, or should I just go buy a different bracket that attaches to my aerobars? Would you consider moving it without revisiting your fitter? It's literally a teeny tiny adjustment (but I know sometimes that can still make a huge difference on a bike).
I can't return this because I've already opened it to try to attach it, but if it's a bust it's ok.

I would try to return it and tell them it didn't fit your bike. My bike store would take it back no questions asked. I have the one that attaches to my acrobats and like it. I think if it attached to the handlebars, the straw would poke me in the eye when riding in the aero position.
Ok, thanks Kat. I don't have the receipt, so we will see if they'll do the return. If they won't, I'm only out a few bucks and maybe have a friend that would want it.
From what I can tell, I don't think the straws will be any closer to my eyes than they are with the bands. That would be horrible on a rough road!
Seriously, my bike fitter spends 4 hours on a bike feet because the tiniest adjustment changes the bike. If your bike is fit for you, do no change anything.
If I was going to attach anything to my bike, like a bottle, I would take it to my bike fitter so he can make sure it is the right thing for me.
Got it, thank you. I'm going to exchange it for the one the attaches to my aerobars instead of the handlebars.
ETA: my fitter knows I had it on with the bands, so the aerobar mount wouldn't change the position, as the band position is relatively haphazard anyway.
