Yes. Soak cotton balls in acetone (straight acetone) and put them on your nails. Then wrap your nails in tin foil and leave them for about 15 minutes. Then you should be able to scrape the gel off. It's not easy, but it can be done.

yes. you need polish remover (preferably strong stuff), cotton balls, and foil.
soak a little piece of cotton with remover, put it on your nail, and wrap with a tiny piece of foil. let it sit 10 or so min and then you should be able to scrape it off. if it won't come off, more polish remover and let it sit longer.
Yes! I have perfected it. I take 10 small cotton balls and dip them in acetone or nail polish remover. Then I put one on each nail and wrap with tinfoil to get the cotton balls to stay on (might require help for the last couple fingers, H has gotten good at it). Then I watch tv and hang out for an hour or so. After a while the polish will disintegrate. Nail polish remover works but acetone is better.
The alternative is dipping them in a bowl of acetone for an hour or so, although I prefer the tinfoil fingers way.
ETA: with nail polish remover it's about an hour.. much less with acetone.

This, but I had to soak mine FOREVER when I did this at home.
