We haven't started the nursery. We haven't started any classes. I have no idea what I'm going to wear during labor. I have no idea what I'll pack. I haven't started looking for a nanny. I haven't started looking for a pediatrician.
People are already talking about what they will wear during labor, etc on my birth month board. Wha, wha, what? I mean, I plan to be in a tub, so if I'm naked, that's fine with me.
Not sure if my relaxed attitude is a good thing of a bad thing. I figure I have the essentials covered: cloth diapers, boobs, and a place to sleep.
Don't freak out. I said in a previous post, we didn;t have the girls' nursery set up until after 8 months old. I took a breastfeeding class at WIC - after I delivered them. How awkward to be the only not pregnant woman at a BFing class. What other classes do you want/need to take? Bring a tank top. You have at least 5 weeks to start working on your overnight bag. You have time. You have time.
The nursery is for you, not the baby. Like you said, you have everything you need, and cute decorations aren't necessary to make a happy baby. I packed my bag the night before I checked in. If there was anything I missed, a visitor brought it or Brian picked it up when he went home to shower. Your laid back attitude is a good thing. Breath mama. It will come into place.

I was the same way. I was super laid back about everything and it worked just fine. As for labor, I packed night gown type things and ended up wearing a tank top and underwear and then put on a sports bra when I got in the tub. Just because I have huge boobs and I'm more comfortable in a bra. In the classes they go over everything you need, but it really isn't all that much. I didn't start packing until much later. And this time I'm doing a home birth, with only a few weeks left before I'm full term and I haven't even started working on my birth kit! You're fine. You have plenty of time.

I am so jealous that you are doing a HB. Next baby will be born at home, for me. And I almost, ALMOST can't wait.

You're doing fine! We didn't move until 32 weeks so didn't set up a nursery until after that. I picked a pedi in 1 day (and didn't interview anyone, just went with the website I liked). I was admitted to the hospital before I packed a bag. DH did just fine going home to pick stuff up. The only class we took was a breastfeeding class, and even that wasn't necessary. In Chicago, you don't need to look for a nanny until about 3-4 weeks before you want them to start. I would assume FL is similar. No worries! Laid back is the way to go and your baby will be perfectly happy with just you and your boobs

Oh and I had a C-section so I was naked during the birth, but I was planning on wearing a hospital gown if I had a normal delivery. I hear things get pretty messy.

I know I'm in the minority here but I totally loved giving birth and I'm sooo excited to do it again and have a HB! I got really close with the midwife who was at Kennedy's birth, so I'm crossing my fingers that she's on call when I go into labor. The birth center was such an awesome experience, I'm sure this will be even better!

We just did classes in the past month, are meeting our (hopefully) pedi on fri and haven't even thought about nanny/daycare yet! Packing is easy, just google a list and you will probably wear a hospital gown until you get to recovery, and maybe even after From what I've been told.

i agree with everyone else. I didn't pack my bag til around 34 weeks, which is also when we went to the only class we went to, which was a safety class (baby cpr, sids, carseat check, etc) I did start the nursery around 20 weeks but that was because our in laws came in town and bought us furniture and i was excited to decorate. In the hospital I wore a hospital gown until day 2 when i wore a robe i brought from home.
