I'm in shock. My mom has read the books and told me something big happens this season but I did not expect that. I feel a little flabbergasted that so many people died.
I knew it was coming and I was still shocked by the violence of it all.
The breaking of the honor code (protecting when guests) will be the end of they Feys. And, likely, the Lannisters and Boltons. The preview for next week solidified that thought with Tyrion saying "the North will never forget". Yup, I think that seals that fate, too (the family, not sure if just the father).
I read spoilers last year so knew it was coming but it was absolutely heartbreaking when it happened. The violence was awful. I hope the Starks find some kind of justice someday.
We have read the books so we knew what was coming, but it was so emotional to watch. I think they did a really good job. I think if I hadn't read the books I would have been way way more shocked.
Ugh, I read a couple of weeks ago about Rob but was not expecting his wife to be stabbed in the stomach. I was also holding out hope for Catelyn and the wolf. It was just so heartbreaking. I loved the lack of music during the credits.

That was...seriously traumatic. And for Arya to get so close to her family and safety and have it all taken away! I mean, I know it was better that she wasn't part of the slaughter, but...holy hell.
The look on Catelyn's face when they killed Rob...you could tell she was already dead.
The guy that got married-is he dead too? They didn't show it but I am assuming the bedding didn't go on? poor guy, he was so happy to have gotten a pretty one.

The guy that got married was Edmure Tully, Cat's brother. (Book spoiler - he survives, but is a POW to his new FIL from hell, Walder Frey). It remains to be seen how they will treat that in the show.

I haven't read the books, but I assumed they were killed as well. Frey didn't seem to care much about any of his family members, even when Catelyn had a knife to his wife's throat.
I also saw PP's response about what they do with him in the book - I wonder what the show will decide to do.
I also felt so bad for Bran and Rickon - they were SO close to Jon, as well as Arya being SO close to being reunited with her mother, only to have both situations end terribly.
Do you think the Wildlings will search for Jon Snow or let him go? I'm guessing he's a threat because he may alert the rest of the Night's Watch along the Wall.
I didn't know it was coming, but I just had this feeling watching the episode that this was all going to end badly. I didn't quite expect THAT, but there was an edge that had me on MY edge!

I've read the books so I knew it was coming.
A guy my friend knows (who read the books) brought a bloody looking wedding cake that had "The Lannister's send their regards" written on it to a group gathering.
I've read all the books. I knew it was coming, but to actually see how they played it out...wow! They did make some changes, I was ok with it. It was better then the book.
SPOILERS........ Jon's wife doesn't die in the book. She is not a strong character at all. It was interesting to see the change in the show.
Seeing a pregnant woman stabbed in the stomach several times was hard to watch. Ditto OPs, there was this tension throughout the Frey episode, you knew something bad was coming. I swear, DH gulped when they locked the door.
I had read something about "the red wedding" - certainly lived up to its name.
