Poor guy is miserable. We had his birthday party yesterday & ended up at the ER last night. I feel so bad that we exposed his friends. I had no idea. I thought he was teething. Anyone have any experience with this?
Oh no! Sorry to hear about him having to go to the ER on the day of his party. I really have no clue what hand, foot and mouth is so I am not much help. But I hope it clears up soon

I'm so sorry to hear D had to get so sick on his big birthday party day! i hope he feels better quickly. Apparently this is going around Beckett's school, but so far he hasn't gotten it. I mentioned it to the pediatrician when she came to check out Annabel in the hospital, and she said they've seen a huge outbreak of it recently. She made it sound like it goes away in about a week, and the biggest concern, especially with little ones was the potential for high fevers.
The ER said there was a big outbreak here too. He said it averages a week to run its course. His grandaughter had it for 10 days. Ugh. I hope he fights this quick.
Kathy- D's symptoms are a nasty rash all over that look like big, infected zits, fever, ulcers in his mouth, lots of drooling, very irritable, trouble getting him to sleep & stay asleep. There's no treatment. Just need to let it run its course.
We just left the pedi. I'm concerned because he's had a dry diaper all day. He has to go back tomorrow if nothing changes.
Oh no, I'm a little late seeing this. I hope he's starting to feel better. Mia just got over this, it was going around at her daycare. I felt so bad for her, she was miserable. She was out of school Thursday, Friday and Monday. She still has some little scabs, but is doing MUCH better...hopefully D is on the mend as well.
D's rash is starting to turn into scabs now & his mood is much better. I sent him back to daycare for the first time today since last Thursday. He cried when I dropped him off. I felt so bad.
