I am making H Father's Day breakfast in bed and am trying to come up with some ideas for what I want to make:
Right now I am thinking some combination of these would be good. Here are the things I'm considering.
- Baked Apple Cinnamon French Toast - Fruit Salad - Crab Quiche - Vegetarian biscuits and gravy (For me. He will not eat this.) - Bacon (For him. I will not eat this.) - Buffalo chicken cupcakes (which is really just buffalo chicken dip in wonton wrappers baked in muffin tins; he would die because buffalo chicken anything is his favorite and I haven't cooked meat in 3 years.) - Some sort of fabulous breakfast cocktail
I can't make all the things. Help me out here. What would you make? Feel free to add your own ideas if you make something great.
For Christmas morning, I usually go all out and plan/make (along with DH) a sinfully delicious brunch.
AND ALWAYS we end up making waaaay too much food.
Pick 3 things. Trust me, by the end, you 1) won't want to cook too much (even if DH is cooking along with you) and 2) you won't want to eat so much (I know, sounds weird).
Besides, it's all about drinking anyway.
Fight coffee Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice mimosas (GOD DAMN IT I KNOW THIS HAS A NAME AND I COULD NEVER FIND A NORMALIZED ONE!)
and french toasts/fresh whipped cream and a side or something.
The McCormick hollandaise sauce packets are also super good. I do poached eggs with gouda or swiss, diced sundried tomatoes and hollandaise on sesame bagels.
SO GOOD.
This is the recipe I use for baked French Toast, though I use amaretto in place of bourbon. MIL made it at Christmas but hers was really dry. Mine was perfect, I don't know what she did wrong.
