...and using crutches. I can't put any weight on my right leg for 8 weeks.
I've been hopping around a little just today, and my left leg is SO sore. Lowering myself on the toilet is insanely hard.
STAY FIT PEOPLE. You never know when you'll have to carry all your weight on one leg.
Yay: my left leg is gonna be RIPPED in 8 weeks. Boo: my right leg is gonna atrophy like mad Yay: I got a scrip for 60 percs Boo: physio is going to be a bitch
My H was on crutches for 6 months. He got used to it pretty quickly. It's cumbersome, though, if you're trying to do something else in addition to walking with crutches, like get groceries, so get people to help you as much as you can.

I totally almost cried out of frustration a few times when I was on crutches. They are HARD TO DEAL WITH. I relied way too heavily on sneaking a little bit of weight on my foot here and there. Don't be like me!
It was my left ankle/foot and my right leg hurt a lot more than I expected using crutches. But that part did get better.
Haha, thanks ladies! I wasn't fishing for compliments about the weight thing, I just feel SO out of shape on these crutches.
I've actually rented a walker too, and that's a lot easier to get around with, but I still get winded. Confession: I also rented a tub bench.
Well, that's just plain smart. Climbing in or out of the shower while non-weightbearing is dangerous! The bathroom is already one of the most dangerous rooms of the house. Add to it hobbling around on crutches and trying to bathe yourself? That's a recipe for disaster.

I have worn a boot in my left leg since March. I have about another month to go. My left leg is now nicknamed, Chicken. My right leg is no longer fat. It has muscles!
I hope you have a speedy recovery. PT isn't going to be easy or fun, but you can do it! Just remember to ask for breaks if you need them. be prepared for the questions. everyone ask "What did you do?" and "Does it hurt?" No idiot, it feels great. Good luck!

And as PP said. Don't be alarmed when the well leg starts aching. My hip and knee did not like the extra weight. Your lower back might hurt a little, too.

When I had to be completely off my left ankle for two weeks and then relearn how to walk for the next two weeks getting clean and using the toilet were the hardest things. I would've been a gross dirty person without my H to help.
I'm SO sorry about this whole process. I hope everything heals fast and the next two months fly by.
