I've narrowed it down to 2 little black dresses for the upcoming wedding. The one where the bride wanted "black tie" but really she just doesn't want people showing up dressed too casually.
Which dress is your favorite? 1 or 2. I'm too dense to figure out making a poll. Also pictured are the chosen shoes.
So I can't remember how that ended up, did you talk to her? because I am still thinking no on that second one (the only one I can see) for a black tie event..unless she said it wasn't really black tie..

It's not really black tie. It's "please don't show up wearing something from Deb" She does want a level of fanciness, and I'm thinking a classic black dress is my safest bet.
It's got a cute little key hole at the nape of the neck, and some draping. (#2) It's not a black tie wedding, again, she just wants to make sure people don't dress too casually. I think she had some doubts about a couple of her guests choices.
Also, I just google imaged some "black tie dresses" and they are all really fucking ugly. Either they are dowdy, they look like cheap versions of red carpet dresses, or they look like prom dresses.
I think I can pull off looking put together, classic and appropriate without wearing something that looks like a bad bridesmaid dress.
I also think the shoes are not right for a wedding. I feel like the shoes/dress combo = sexy outfit for a girls night out or something, but not wedding attire.

I agree about the shoes. I'd wear either dress with the shoes out to dinner or something but definitely not to a wedding. Especially not to a black tie invited wedding. You need a fancier material and a less clunky shoe.
