He is adorable! My kids take awful passport pictures. It's ok. ;-)
On my preschool picture I had a giant smile, shpwing that the entire front row of my teeth was covered in yellow cavities. OMG, lol. Then in kindergarten, I smiled with my mouth closed, but my mom got the day wrong and I am wearing an ugly sweatshirt and have uncombed hair. You can't win with school pictures ;-)
@misoangry is obviously a much better photographer than they used.
I curled DD1's hair for kindergarten in ringlets. They took the picture right after recess when she'd spent the entire time running around. She looked like she was breathing hard and her hair was flyaway everywhere, some still in ringlets and some not. It's the most memorable picture she's ever taken including her senior portraits with her red mushroom haircut. You look at it and you can tell she'd been playing hard "and put away wet."
This will be that picture someday. He's adorable and takes a cute picture even when he's not happy to be in front of the camera.
ETA: I had a huge cold sore in my sixth grade picture and wore a hideous sherbert-orange dress that I made in home ec for my seventh grade. At least his is an adorable "horrible" picture.
He looks cute! Our daycare never fixes hair, collars, dirty shirts etc either. One year DS looked in dire need of diaper change. There are also crappy seasonal props.
I tried cutting DS's hair once. He flinched and I nicked his ear which took forever to stop bleeding. He got $25 hair cuts at the salon for two years after that. Not MM at all. If he is scared of noise salons are the way to go. My stylist was awesome and eased him into using clippers instead of scissors. Having the 30 minute slot allowed time to check things out too.
