I'm not sure if its just rampant in this area or what. Every mom I know has a 'side buisness'. They are either selling Pampered Chef, Arborne, scentsy, etc. wtf!! I don't understand why they all do it!!! Is it like this everywhere?

My group all went through a direct selling phase. It was fun at first but I lost interest quickly. Can't we just hang out and drink without having to buy candles?
This stuff was absolutely rampant when we lived in rural Iowa. I swear the nurses' station at work always had a stack off 3 or 4 catalogs that coworkers were trying to get us to order from - mostly scentsy and 31, but there were tons of randoms, too.
It doesn't seem nearly as popular in Austin. But I'm also a SAHM down here, maybe when I start working I'll see it more.

I think a lot of people get involved in this stuff because they want to freebies and think they're going to make a ton of money because that's what the sales rep told them would happen.
My sister sells 31 bags and I have a friend that does that skinny wrap nonsense. They drive me ballistic and have been hidden on facebook because of it.

I have new to be asked about a skinny wrap. What's that? I can think of at least 10 people that sell stuff. I hate feeling like I'm a customer prospect more than a friend.

It's some kind of thing you wrap around your belly and supposedly lose inches. I'm kind of guessing on that because I don't really pay attention. But apparently I could make thousands of dollars a month if I become a consultant.

It's INSANE where I live. There's a lot of SAHMs and SAHWs since we're on a military base and I get FB invites for this shit nonstop. Well, not so much anymore b/c word must've gotten around that I'm a Debbie Downer about it all. Meh.
I only know 1 who sells some kind of jewelry and her baby was literally born a month ago so she was doing it pre-baby. I don't buy any of that stuff but I would do Yankee candles if it got me a discount. They're having a clearance sale right now!

I have a FB "friend" that started selling the wraps. I really really really don't get it, but I'm definitely not gonig to ask. How does wrapping something around your stomach make you thinner? HOW!?!?!?!?!

I have a couple friends who are on the wrap kick right now. I'd rather guilt myself into eating better than drop $50 to wrap myself with saran wrap
I guess I get it, I mean I'm trying my own version of the side business. It's just not a pyramid scheme. And I don't like the pressure that comes with being a friend of a seller
