Bonnie was carrying a book and she fell onto the book with her mouth. She's always had a very tight connected upper frenulum and it just totally ripped. It bled quite a bit but she's not upset (other than the initial crying from the fall) and the bleeding is slowing down. She shouldn't need stitched or anything to reattach it, right? I know a tight upper frenulum can actually be a hindrance, so maybe it's a good thing?
Look in her mouth and make sure it didn't tear where her upper lip meets her gums. I've sewn the frenulum back together before, but I'm not sure it's really necessary

Um. I was biting my nails one time and my finger slipped and ripped my upper frenulum (I learn something new here every day) and am totally fine. That's all I have to offer.

It looks like it's just the skin flappy thing, not up at the lip/gum line
DS tore his frenulum when he was about a year old. The doctor said it would heal just fine if left alone, so we did nothing and it healed. I would still get her checked out though.
She will be fine, I actually tore mine wakeboarding (crashing actually) and the dentist said to let it heal on its own, the mouth heals really quickly. DD has a low frenulum and she tore it a little the other day and it made me happy because I'd rather she tear it than need surgery. Which if it doesn't get torn by the time she's five then she will need surgery.
