Why am I surprised?

My dad HAD to have a digital camera that cost way more than someone with his lack of technical skills should be spending on a camera.  He's the type of person who gets a hobby, takes it to the extreme and then's done with it, so he *needed* an expensive camera.  Case in point, he wanted to grow orchids; last time I counted he has at least 290 of them (my parent's house is on 5 acres, so they're spread throughout the property.)  I called him this morning to ask him how to fix a crack in the side of our garage, and he tells me "you need to come down to help me figure out the stuff I have to do on the computer to use my camera"

I love him dearly, but I knew he'd have issues.  Hopefully he doesn't get too frustrated and give up, because if he was going to do so he could have done it on a much less pricey model
