Because someone needs to come get this MFer. This dog WILL NOT be house trained. She will not tell us when she has to go, she just goes. Fine. We have a kennel and she stays in there when we are not home and she won't go in there. When we are home we take her out every hour. DH is supposed to take them out in the morning and feed them. She didn't poop so he should put her in the kennel and then I take her out again when I come down about 20 minutes later. Nope! Let her hang out in the kitchen and left for work. Dog shit everywhere. Screaming baby wants to be fed and I have shit all over my kitchen. And on my foot.
Also I need someone to come get my MF DH too. I know his lazy ass rushed her so he could leave for work. She needs time to find the spot where she wants to go. I think they are teaming up to drive me insane.
Disclaimer: I love my MFer and she will get plenty of puppy snuggles later.
We've noticed that our new dog may not be potty trained either. She goes outside, but on the rare instance she has to go inside, she doesn't bark or go to the door; she slinks to the kitchen and does it there. I don't know how to fix it.
Oh and try some vitamin e and Vaseline for her nose.
Her nose actually has an overgrowth of callus cells, it's not just dry. We have special prescription cream for it but it won't ever be like a regular nose. She goes through flare ups with it occasionally.
She also has thyroid issues that made all her fur fall out on her sides so she has bald spots. It took years to diagnose but that's the current theory after hundreds of dollars in tests and she's on medication for that. PLUS the glucosamine she takes for the partial tear in her ACL from 2010 that we had repaired. We keep the lights on at the vet's office.

Oh I'm sorry. She shits on the floor and is a money pit. But a very, very cute one.

Its OK, I just didn't want you thinking we don't pay attention to her issues. I forget that to other people her nose looks jacked up
Awww she is adorable. That would be frustrating about the potty training.
My dog is potty trained but has another annoying habits like laying on top of you at 6 AM on weekends because she wants to get up and walking all over you when sitting on the couch. But I can't stay mad at her cute face
When she isn't in the crate, tether her to you. Then if she starts to go you can rush her outside. This may help you pick up on her subtle cues if she has any.
That's a good idea. She typically circles in front of the TV and stares at us like "you better take me out!" Then again sometimes she just drops down and pees with no warning. I instituted taking her out every hour but DH gets lazy and says "she's just trying to lay down". The dogs are supposed to be his responsibility since I do everything else. So he is a huge part of the issue. When we do every hour and give her time to poo in the morning and right when we get home from work (the times she normally goes) then it works beautifully. DH messed it up and I had to clean up the aftermath.

Can you bell train her? My boy dog does this too and we don't have a solution yet : (
For the pooping outside, we found a spot the girl dog likes and when she needs to poop we always take her to that spot, then praise her and give her a treat. It sometimes works

I´ve tried it, but I failed miserably at it. Plus with the other two dogs, it´s like a madhouse. Since we are sending the other two dogs back to the states early, I think I am going to take that time to really work on bell training her.
Don´t get me wrong, she hardly ever has accidents, because we take them out 3 or 5 times a day, and she always goes. She knows that outside is for the potty. But on the rare occasion she has to go inside, I wish she´d give us some sort of warning.

We're in the same boat : ( He loves to pee on the fridge which requires me pulling it out to clean up. flipping dogs.
I can't figure out how to say this tactfully so I am just going to say it. Aren't bulldogs kind of dumb? I have always heard they are impossible to pt because they, /knocks on head, aren't all there.
See so it isn't her fault. She can't help it that she is simple minded. :-)
And if she is actually brilliant and I am stereotyping the whole bulldog nation then just ignore me. My H wants a bulldog someday because he apparently likes cleaning up shit.
Bulldogs are not dumb! Nanook and Nika's best friend is a French bulldog who is both gorgeous and smart. But he has stinky farts. DH considers this a good attribute though.

My CW just asked me this about 30 minutes ago. No, Lucy is a genius mastermind unfortunately. You should see her manipulate my other dog Malcolm. He chews a bone right in front of her because he doesn't want the bone, he really just wants her to chase. She will lay there looking bored out of her mind. When Malcolm gets sick of it, he will walk away to find something more exciting. She will get up, snatch the bone and run to her kennel and chew on it for 2 hours. All the toys are usually in a pile in her kennel under the blanket.
When we lived in Mississippi, DHs cousin had moles. She would somehow know that the mole was running through its tunnel, smash her foot through the tunnel and get the mole when he popped up. It was gross. She is usually too lazy to show her smarts but she is brilliant when it comes to getting her way.
