I had a garage sale 2 weeks ago. I made twice as much on Friday than Saturday. It was shocking. I was so busy all Friday, and then Saturday was slow as hell.
I grew up in CT and they were everywhere- good stuff, too.
In PA I never see them, and I feel like I would be a neighborhood spectacle if I had one! I want to though!
Growing up where I did in PA, people didn't really have them. We never did because who drives to the country for a sale?
But now that I've moved, we've hit the holy grail of PA yard sales. Every single weekend there are at least a dozen. A big hill by me (with homes along it, obviously) get together and have a 2 weekend long hill wide yard sale.
I drive by and look and shake my head and give them kudos on their efforts because I'm way too lazy.
ETA: I still live in the country but so does every one else, if that makes sense. Ha
Oh, people where we lived a few years ago had them Thursday THROUGH Sunday. Four effing days of garage sales. Not like, 'oh, I think we'll have ours on thursday," they have them for 4 days. I mentioned how I went to one on Saturday and it sucked, and my co-workers were like "well, yeah, all the good stuff is out on Thursday. By saturday it is just all picked over junk." FOUR EFFING DAYS of a garage sale. Ridiculous.
