I'm drinking a glass of wine waiting for my Indian food to arrive. H is tinkering away in the kitchen. Five bucks says he's fixing himself a cocktail. I would be doing something more exciting tonight but I had a nonstop 10 days and I'm tuckered out.

I'm making a lemon cake with raspberry curd filling (currently waiting for my egg whites to do their thing). Later we'll grill burgers and eat them on the yummy brioche hamburger buns I made earlier. DH just ran to the store, and then we're going to concoct some kind of lemonade cocktail.
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
omg beloved that cake sounds amazing, love lemon raspberry combo!
brie where did you go?
We had chipotle for dinner when dh realized the chicken he bought earlier this week expired that same day :/ Now I am watching the Royals win, Chubbs is woofing at the neighbors playing outside, and I am about to enjoy an ice cream cone. Love that freaking chocolate at the bottom of the cone!!!
Pugz, we were at Nick & Jake's. Nothing fancy, but we can usually get solid bar food there. I think I ordered something too complicated and the flavors just didn't work. DH's food was awesome though. Blech. I should have said something.
I'm sort of here - working on a website and pooping in when PHP is making me too crazy. DH is watching some space show. He works at 6 am tomorrow, so we are not exciting at all!
I'm making dilly potato salad as my contribution to Mothers' Day dinner. I'm just waiting for the potatoes to finish boiling so I can mix everything together and pop it in the fridge. Then we'll watch something on Netflix.
We are about to pop open a bottle of sparkling rose that we bought at a cheese store this afternoon. I also got some cheese. I love cheese, but I'm such a cheese dummy (and didn't want to spend a lot of money today...) Me: What's the cheapest brie you have? Cheesemonger: Uhhh.... What? Me: What's the least expensive brie you have back there? Cheesemonger: We have two - one is triple creme, blah, blah, blah. The other one is a Daphinois - a little less firm, blah, blah, blah. Me: I'll take the Daphinois. It sounds kind of like my name. (Made a corny joke to DH) Cheesemonger: Blank stare. That will be $5.59. Me: Thanks.
It was rather funny... I'm really not doing it justice. I really need to borrow someone's cheese journal. I prefer buying cheese at Whole Foods and Wegmans, so I can just grab stuff that looks yummy, rather than having to talk to a cheese-person.
We've been so lazy this afternoon. We're watching pawn stars, and I'm intermittently reading the art of racing in the rain and whatever nesting is called now. GBCN-ing?
I'm here. I spent the day shopping for flowers for our yard, but didn't buy much because I am so indecisive. I also mowed the lawn. DH just left for work, so I am catching up bad reality TV shows.

I'm here. I spent the day buying stuff to plant and then spent about 4 hours digging weeds and overgrown grass out of the garden. Followed by about 20 minutes of actual planting. I think I would enjoy gardening more if there wasn't so much prep work involved and the weeds would stay away.
I finished that up after 7 so I took a shower and then went to the grocery store with wet hair in a pony tail and no makeup. Glad I didn't run into anyone.
Now I'm eating pad Thai that I got as takeout from a Chinese place (there is no Thai place in town, sadly). It is much better than I expected but not as good as real pad Thai.
I am also supposed to watch "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" but I haven't started it yet. DH is working so I'm on my own schedule.
