I ordered a bunch of ovulation and pregnancy tests online (because I could get 25 o-tests and 6 HPTs for the price of 2 HPTs at the drugstore) and paid A WEEK AGO, thinking that if they mail it out the next day it should be here no later than Saturday (probably even Friday) and the package is still not here.
I super-super hate Dutch mail. Why can't they just sort and deliver stuff on time.
So mail, please come soon, really really soon, I want to test!!!!!
Same thing happened to me! I was waiting for a few days for my internet cheapies to come in so I could POAS again (in the store they are 4 euros each for one little strip!) and the day they I arrived I found out I was pregnant.
You're wanting to testing for ovulation or test for pregnancy?
Do you have the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" already?
At this moment, through charting, I'm pretty sure I'm in ovulation week (actually think ovulation should be today, but obviously not sure because I don't have those damn test!) I still have 1 HPT left from last cycle, but I'm nowhere near ready to test yet.
I don't have the book yet. This is just our 2nd cycle trying (and the first one doesn't really count, because we didn't decide to start trying until halfway through my cycle, o-day, so I knew that the chances of it being successful were very, very , very slim. This is the first full, real cycle. I kinda figured I'd wait with the books and stuff.
But from popcorn's response I figure it's worth getting and reading immediately. Might have to see if the local American book store has it (and hope my friend's friend isn't working, because I'm not telling anyone we're TTC besides you ladies!)
I thought the book TCOYF was so awesome that I want to give it to DD as soon as she is menstruating one day. I don't think you need to be TTC for a long time or even TTC at all to read it and get a good understanding of what goes on in your body every month.

:gets off TCOYF soapbox.:
The same author actually wrote a book especially for teens. cyclesavvy.com/
But I agree, it's a GREAT book whether you're TTC or not.

I agree, I thought TCOYF was a very informative read whether you're TTC or not. I'll have to check out the cycle savvy book, though. The thing about TCOYF is that it emphasizes that the window for getting pregnant is pretty narrow, and I'd be afraid that that would inspire a false sense of confidence in a teenager that "it's not likely to happen, anyway," when teenage cycles can be very erratic as they start regulating. I'd prefer to have her read a book that emphasizes less how to get pregnant and more how the cycles work, what's normal and what's not, how she can anticipate AF, and just in general help her better understand her body. Yes, TCOYF covers that, too, but it's pretty imbedded in the "here's how to increase your chances of getting pregnant" focus of the book.
BFP1: DD born April 2011 at 34w1d via unplanned c/s due to HELLP, DVT 1 week PP
BFP2: 3/18/12, blighted ovum, natural m/c @ 7w4d
BFP3: DD2 born Feb 2013 at 38w3d via unplanned RCS due to uterine dehiscence
Our mail delivery was eating all bran, honestly, however lately he's switched to the most sugary cereal you can find, doused in chocolate milk with a side of sugar on top.
I think though, as we have been receiving all kinds of other mail, that the company just hasn't sent it out in time. And their not friggin responding to my 'where the heck is it' e-mail either. I guess that's just 18 euros gone.
Oh well...
Re: TCOYF, they MIGHT have it at the American Book Center, but they're not sure if it's in stock (WTH wouldn't you know, but whatevs) and it's 28 euros for a used copy if they have it. Sigh. I hate those crazy ass high book prices here, and the fact that it's not available for the kindle.
as an app you mean? we have an iPad, but DH hogs that, and I have an android phone... I have a nifty fertility app, but that's not a full on book. <runs and skips to phone to check it out>
yeah, I think I saw one for 7 pounds plus shipping. Have to check how much shipping to here is, otherwise just use my 'boekenbon' that the ILs gave me for this and pay the difference (and have ABC order one for me.)
I got my copy secondhand on amazon.co.uk for about 4 euros. Plus shipping it was like 10 euros total or something like that. Totally worth it in my mind.

Cool, thanks everyone! Will check with the bookstore here tomorrow to see if they accidentally do have it in stock and if not I'll order it (your excitement has me thinking 'screw the cost, I want the dang book!' plus the fact that I still have a gift certificate for that store.)
