Hi all, long time lurker here. I'll be getting a cortisone injection in my left shoulder on Friday and I would like some input on what to expect. I'd appreciate any and all information.

I had one on the back of my knee. I was sore for a day and was told no activity for 3 days. It didn't hurt too much, but didn't help too much either. I know people who had better luck with relief. GL!
I had one in my wrist years ago. I thought it hurt pretty badly afterwards (I'm also a known wimp and exaggerater). But once the stuff worked its way in, I had amazing relief. In my case, I've never had a recurrence of the pain I'd been experiencing.
My friend recently had one in her shoulder. She said it hurt terribly at the time, but seemed to help a little. A few weeks later, now she says it's wearing off and the original injury hurts again.

I have had them in my foot twice. It hurts a lot when they do the injection, but the second day is always the worst for me. They have helped for a little while but the pain has always come back.
I had one in my hip over a year ago. It didn't hurt too bad, and that combined with foam rolling and prescribed stretching did the trick! Sweet relief!
I had one in my knee this past February due to terrible IT band pain before my half. The shot did hurt at the time, but the pain didn't last long. I was able to run my half pain free, and I haven't had much trouble since then. I do however, have a large dimple in the side of knee where the injection was given. I looked online and this is a side effect of the shot. I try not to look at it, because it is quite ugly. I guess it's a souvenir from my race! Good luck!

Thank you for sharing your experiences with me. I got the injection a couple hours ago and I am hurting a bit right now. I'm hoping to feel better within the next couple of days and hopefully continue with my rehab next week. Thanks, again!
