Our gym is transitioning from Les Mills classes to Body Training Systems classes and I'm curious about the differences that other people have noticed between the two and which you like better.
I've heard good things about Centergy but I typically just do BodyPump and have tried GroupPower a couple of times. It seems like the music/choreography is a little easier to follow and I'm definitely sore but it may just be from doing something different than the same 'ol Pump on a regular basis.
'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, screaming 'Woohoo! What a ride!' So every day is a holiday and every meal a feast."
I grew up on GP but recently moved to an area where Les Mills is the only option. After a few months of trying it out, I take my GP releases and do it on my own. Routines are boring and repetitive from release to release. BTS has mechanical rights to the music so they can edit songs to fit the routines they want to do so everything moves much smoother and transitions make much more sense. And I HATE when a song ends and then picks back up in the middle...so anti-climactic.
We have found that BP does not use weight factors. I feel that all you do is put on as much weight as possible and hope for the best. GP bases the amount of weight you use on the amount of reps or scheduled breaks in the reunite. So sometimes you work on strength...other times you work on tone.
My wife is not an instructor and hates the class as well.

Our gym recently made the switch too. I didn't notice too much of a difference btw Pump and Group Power besides using more of your own body weight in some of the exercises. But, I just started attending GP after not doing Pump for quite sometime so that may skew my thinking too...
I did notice a difference btw RPM and Group Ride - basically with the cardio peaks in tracks 4/5 and 8 and that it is overall a lot faster than RPM. I'm getting used to it, I did not really care for it at first but I think that was just because it was new.
