So today marks the 14th day that we are in our new house. We've made quite impressive progress, I have to share!
After the initial 3 days of moving, cleaning, and unpacking, we decided to tackle 1-2 projects each night so we wouldn't get worn out. Overall, we are 95% unpacked and about 65% decorated! Since we started packing i've been really good about getting rid of anything that I didn't want, never used, or didn't plan on using. I just took probably my 10th, at least, load to the donation place today! That in itself is very cleansing. lol
So room by room:
-The basement is finished space with 2 large storage closets. The closets are fully organized (we don't have a usable attic so everything is in these 2 closets), the seating/tv area is 90% set up and decorated, desk/office area is fully set up, and the half bath which needs a mirror.
-Last night, we finished the garage! It is fully organized and emptied out and we can finally pull our cars in!
-Kitchen and dining room is fully unpacked and set up, just need to hang some stuff up and get barstools for the island.
-Living room is set up for now. I dont want to decorate yet until we get new furniture.
-DD's room is repainted, I hung an extra shelf in her closet, and she is unpacked and organized. I got 1/2 of her wall decor up and will finish the rest after I order her new mattress and convert her bed.
-Master closet is fully set up and organized. Master bath just needs a new mirror. We are eventually getting new furniture here as well, so the rest of the wall decor will wait until we get new furniture.
-We have a laundry room on the bedroom level which has a linen area (open shelving). That is all set up. I do want to add some cabinets over the w&d eventually but that is a long term project.
Still have some pieces of furniture to buy (a shelving unit to organize DD's toys, new living room furniture, guest room and master bedroom furniture), but I feel like this is massively impressive for only 14 days! We've also already cut our lawn once, fertilized it, and I put some garden decor out. Everything else that doesn't have a final home yet is in the guest room, but we dont have any guests coming on the immediate horizon so that is fine. Alot of the stuff has a place to go in the house, it just didn't get there yet.
