I'm not headed to a beach, unfortunately, but a friend was kind enough to give me a small gift card for Barnes & Noble and I'd like to use it for some fun books, rather than the serious stuff I tend to put on my Kindle.
I'm not looking for Fifty Shades of Stupid or other lousy (if fun) writing, but any enjoyable, quality book recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Have you read anything by Jen Lancaster? She's one of my favorites to read on vacation. I also really enjoyed Mindy Kaling's book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me. ETA: And anything by David Sedaris!
The Wave: In Pursuit of the Rogues, Freaks, and Giants of the Ocean by Susan Casey. Non-fiction, but fast, easy read. And interesting.
This is actually on my Amazon wish list so I'm pleased to see it recommended!
The only downside with reading it on a Kindle was the photos. You'll want to look at those on a Kindle app on a desktop or iPad or something. Or get the actual book.

I'm using the gift card only for actual books. I'm a bit old school and find that actual books enhance the experience of the "fun" reads, at least for me.
I also second Stephanie Perkins (Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door).
I LOVE Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, but it's the first in a trilogy, so if you're not into waiting for the next book, keep it in the back of your mind for a few years.
I just finished The Expats by Chris Pavone and The Darlings by Christina Alger. Both were quick reads and pretty entertaining. I also just started Bloom by Kelle Hampton and embarrassed myself by tearing up right away at the first chapter.
If have not read Jennifer Weiner, do it. Good in Bed is a great book - and yes, it is Chick Lit, but it is GOOD chick lit, and her characters have a lot of depth.
I read regency romance books because I suck like that. lol If the marriage mart, English society, and the pretense that one could easily move through the classes circa 1805 appeals to you, I suggest Mary Balogh and Mary Jo Putney.
