Unsurprisingly, I wear a lot of sunscreen. Especially now. For a while I've been using Neutrogena SPF 50 lotion/sunscreen on my face, but I don't really like it. I keep using Neutrogena because their broad spectrum stuff seems to work really well, but it irritates my skin. My face doesn't get red or anything, which is why I keep using it, but by the end of the day it always feels kind of raw. Does anyone else have this problem with Neutrogena? If so, what do you use? Also, what do you use on your lips?

I don't have this problem with the Neutrogena sunscreen, but I rarely put it on my face. I usually use a makeup or tinted moisturizer that has SPF included. I use Nivea lip balm w/SPF as well. I've used Clinique CityBlock as well on my face, but it smells kinda weird to me.
I am using Aveeno now and I like it fine, but I am not super fair. Years ago I did get a sample of something from Estee Lauder and I loved it. It felt nice on my skin and gave me great protection. I have also had great luck with Oil of Olay.

doc, if you buy at Target, they'll let you bring it back. Just tell them it didn't work for you or irritated your skin or whatever else. I've bought cheapass makeup there and had the shade be wrong, and they gave me no grief about exchanging it.

Cetaphil, you say? I've had good luck with their lotion (in addition to being very fair, I'm just generally a delicate flower where my skin is concerned). I'll check that out. I really like the combo sunscreen/lotions, but I really need higher than the usual SPF 15.

I really like CeraVe's AM moisturizer, which is 30 SPF, but if I'm going to be out in the sun for an extended period, I've been using the Neutrogena face, which I don't love either.
I use La Roche Posay Moisturizer/Sunscreen. It is great - you can find it on Amazon, or in CVS. The face version is 15 i think, but I swear I have never burned wearing it. I think it may come stronger too?
Also - it is safe for all skin types, I have crappy skin and it does not make my breakouts worse at all.

Well, according to that link the Neutrogena one has a score of 7 (high risk). I didn't see the cetaphil 50, but the other cetaphil one had a rating of 3 (or maybe it was 4). So at least it will probably be an improvement.
Not to complicate things even more, Doc, but if you care about this sort of thing, you can check out the Environmental Working Group's ratings of sunscreens here:
