I really enjoyed the book. I always try to read the book before watching the movie/show and I would probably recommend the same in this case. I think this is mainly because, should the ending or other aspects get changed in the adaptation, I want the book version to be the "correct" version in my mind.
I liked the book. Usually I like to read a book first then watch but in the case of S. King I find the movies/series to be pretty true to the books. So my comments actually don't help at all... It is a crazy long book though!
I wasn't crazy about the book. It had some good moments, but it was way too long and I didn't like the ending.
I agree. I found the ending to be a bit of a slap in the face and I expect that they may change it for the show (they often do change the endings of Stephen King's books for adaptations like The Mist).
I also find that I'm not crazy about any of his recent books. I loved them back in high school but I'm not getting much out of them nowadays.
I didn't realize it was a book. I have my DVR set to record it. Is it a mini-series or a regular show?
I think it's on as a mini series for now but it has a potential to be a show. I think I read somewhere that Stephen King said that he would love to take the story further in tv form. I agree, as the book covered such a short time frame.
OMG I loved the book. The ending was BRUTAL, but I didn't expect anything less. I am so freaking excited for this mini series, and pray that CBS doesn't fuck it up.
ALL of this. This book is in my top 10 of all time. I would really wait to watch the miniseries. It seems like screen adaptations of SK ALWAYS suck. The only exception I can think of is Shawshank.
Did you not like 11/22/63?? I have yet to meet someone who hated that book. It's one of my favorite books of all time. I read it last November and reread it again in May. It will probably be one of those I reread once a year. I LOVE it.
I must admit I haven't read that one yet. Under the Dome kind of burned me out on Stephen King for a while. I'll look it up soon though.
I loved the book, actually. But I'm one of the few people that doesn't mind when he goes over by a few hundred pages. It only took me about a day to read though, so that's probably why I never mind how long they are.
