@fucksticklegit I wandered in here from MM, and even posted the video on my local page. I measured, and it's not really jiving with me. Do you think there is a wider margin of error the bigger the boobies are? Right now I wear a 40G, and I meet all of her requirements except for the gore hitting my chest. No quad-boob, back/pit spillage, underwire pokage... But when I measured I came up with...
are you sitting down? For realz. I am about to bust out a size that could qualify me for one of those TLC shows.
48L. If I wore a 48 band size, I cannot even imagine how much room I would have in the back. And in the cup, I would probably be able to hide an army of ninja kittens. I have big boobs, I get that, but *that* big? No effin way! I attribute this to having really long, saggy boobs. I don't have the volume that would necessitate a bra that big.
So, should I just hang in my 40G? SAVE MY BOOBS!!
Most people notice a 1-2 band size difference, not 8. Did you make sure to measure up *under* your breasts tightly around your ribcage for the band? You're the only person I know of who has had this, so I feel like there must be an error somewhere here.
Pretty sure. I skipped back to that part in the video to rewatch as I measured. I'll have MH do it for me though and see what he comes up with. (which will probably be tomorrow because I took my fabric measuring tape back to work)
What about the difference from G to L? Should I not be leaning over since I have long boobs? Seriously, they are like long flappy dog ears or something.

Did you measure standing up as well as bending forward? Its recommended if you have "long" boobs to measure both ways and average between them. Its possible that will be a better method for you and might clear up the huge variance.

Okay so according to my measuring I should be a 30DD. I am currently wearing a 34B. I am definitely NOT wanting to order anything online. I am VERY picky about my bras, I have never considered myself "well endowed" and breastfeeding 3 kids has NOT been kind to the girls, they need some SERIOUS padding and push-up action if I want them to not look like pancakes. Ugh, so what to do? I have never seen a size 30 band in the stores, I checked VS's website and it looks like their bands only go down to a 32... What if I went with a 32D, would that be the equivalent of a 30DD? This is so confusing...
I am also a former 34B wearer who recently found out I'm a 30DD. Nordstrom had quite a few 30 DD bras both in store and online when I went shopping for my new size. When I searched by size on the website just now, I got 94 results. Link. Personally, I love the Calvin Klein Seductive Comfort and the Betsey Johnson Stocking Stripe.
Well, I went to nordstrom yesterday and I am a 36c according to them. I've been wearing 36/38 b. So I got one fabulous bra and will still measure with this new method and try on a few of those sizes as well.

These are my two favorites as well for the 30D-DD sizes.
I had my first Nordie fitting in SEPT and it was amazing. I re-measured and I suspected I need to go down a band size (it says 32 but I know that is too tight). I am wearing a 36 and need a 34. That said, my favorite bra (Fantasie Esme) MAY be discontinued? I went on Nordstrom's site and there was only one left in my size (and super cheap...like $25 instead of $60). Looks like I'll need to go to the Rack or an actual Nordstrom to find some other contenders.
My local Rack barely had F cups last time, so hopefully they will this time (or DDD).
I know that a month or two ago, the Nordstrom Rack by my mom was carrying "odd" sizes (as my mom called it, because I think the racks were similarly labeled, ha). My Rack at the time had no such thing, but is seems like its a possibility that they may occasionally have "odd" sizes like F and DDD (or the 30 band sizes).

So I went to Nordstrom Rack today to find some bras in my "new" 30DD size., I found two bras in the whole store in that size, I decided to also try the sister size 32 D . Verdict: I am sticking with my 34 / 36B. The bras with the smaller band size and larger cup size actually seem to flatten out my boobs and spread them wider apart I tried several different brands several different styles including push up all of them made my chest if you flatter and made my shoulders appear broader.
I swear I'm not having trouble accepting a bigger bra size, but I'm confused because -- I wear a 36C that fits in all of her characteristics except a tiiiiny bit of quad boob when I scoop (which I never knew to do, so yay!). But band is parallel, gore is flat, no back fat. Which would make me think I should maaaybe go to 34 or 36 D, 36DD tops. But measurements say 34*H*, even measuring a little snug. Could the brand I wear (Barely There) be THAT far off??
I am convinced my new size is correct however is it normal to have to scoop and swoop multiple times a day? Also when I sit the bra fits differently? I think I need a balconette style as my boobs are shallow. I cant fill in the top of a cup when sitting. Thank you for this info I have been passing it along.

You shouldn't really have to adjust that much during the day so it is possible the style of bra just isn't right for your breasts. Mine pretty much stay put whether I sit, stand, walk around etc. Your band should be tight enough that it doesn't shift up/down.

Yes it could and probably is. If you notice, the common theme here is that nearly everyone is wearing too large of a band. Remember you're supposed to receive NINETY PERCENT of your support from the band, not the straps.

Yeah I get that, and I could stand to maybe go to 34. It surprised me that my current size fits well because of how far it is from the measured size. It may explain why I swear by this brand! I thought all others just suck, but really the size is just way off and this brand has seriously exaggerated their sizing.

I think I have the same problem... I'm re ordering different styles since I'm not near a Nordstrom.

GIVE YOUR SMALLER BAND A CHANCE.
I refused to wear mine for a few days because it was uncomfortable and I felt restricted and trapped. It was like I was 14 all over again. But you do get used to it, and it does get more comfortable. And once again, your tits look faaaaaabulous.

I wish I could personally come help all of you measure because I'm sure its frustrating.
Honestly, its possible that those particular bras don't work well for you or they run large/small/whatever. Try measuring again and hopefully the return/exchange process is easy.
I added it to the OP, but I wanted to mention that Herroom.com has a great survey to find out your breast shape along with a few other factors, which will then give you recommendations on what style of bra works best for those characteristics. Its really helpful!
So what does it mean to be a "full" C or "full" D? That has confused me for years.
I believe that means your breast tissue is full all around and fills up a full coverage cup. Unlike me, where the majority of my breast tissue is in the bottom half, so I tend toward balconette bras which push them up a bit to compensate.

I bought the 32DD like measured and was a little concerned it was too tight when I went to clasp it. I wore it today anyway and OMG my boobs have never been happier.
that might be my 'new' size... if no one else has claimed them, I'll get back to you after I try some on this weekend! how much do you want for them? oh and what color btw?
I put it in a box somewhere so I need to find it, but I believe I have it in ivory. I'm not sure how much I want for it yet. I'm sure we can work something out.

Some of you are talking about going to Nordstrom to get fitted correctly, so why does Nordstrom have this chart on their fit guide page (at the bottom)? It seems like exactly what we've been doing "wrong" all this time...
