We were just at IKEA today looking at couches and I liked that one a lot!
We are just beginning a re-do of our family room. We've been married almost 5 years. We bought a wonderful "fixer-upper" for our first home; we've been here 3.5 years, working on one room at a time. We love the house, the neighborhood, etc. But every time we start a new project the buying furniture phase of it is the worst; actually, buying lamps for the bedroom caused a stand-off. We eventually figure it out and we're both pleased with our selections, but the back-and-forth negotiations with each other is exhausting.
My sister has it in a nice cream brocade sort of cover, and I love it.
For the drama over furniture? Just flip flop the selections. You pick out night tables? he picks lamps. You pick the color, he picks the style. etc. It really does work, giving each of you a bit of control over a particular thing .
Sue that's really good advice. We usually both pick something out and then "make our case" to the other. It usually works for us; one of us ends up agreeing/compromising and we're both happy. The time in the bedroom lamp aisle... that was rough... and the part that kills me is, in the end we went with "his choice" and I LOVE them now.
I still want to know what's wrong with my Haverty's sofa. isabel
Huh? Is it from there? There's nothing wrong with it. I actually was over there looking for a couch the other day and recognized it. I'm like 98% sure it's the one I want to buy once we close on our house.
I was just curious if it was because I'd love to get your take on it once you've had it for a few weeks.
ETA: Ugh, sorry for freaking you out! Your tag in the other post didn't work, so I didn't realize you responded to me. I just got excited when you posted it because I recognized it. I loved it when I looked at it in the store! I'd love to see a picture of yours in the charcoal color. I don't think I can bring myself to buy a cream colored couch even though I like it a lot.
