I always at least have allergy issues pop up right when in supposed to go see the new baby. So I'm all paranoid that its actually a cold and I end up throwing some frozen meals at them and yelling congratulations as I very quickly back away from their doorstep.
This post brought to you by my scratchy throat and freezer full of delicious fatty goods that I'm supposed to deliver tomorrow.
you should be fine as long as you wash your hands frequently and don't touch your face while visiting the newborn.
fwiw, I work with newborns daily and my allergies are acting up constantly (we think there is something in the air on the maternity floor at my hospital, lots of people with runny noses and sniffles on a daily basis, and it doesn't matter the time of year). I just make sure I wash my hands before touching babies.
