Hokay SO... I have touch of this, a year later. Abigail's MN is Marcia (Mars-ee-a); Luis named her. He picked out her first and middle name, and then they both got both of our last names (any and all future babies, regardless of my last name, will have both of our last names)
He wanted to name her Delilah. Abigail Delilah. At the time I think I was opposed since there "too many Ls" And there were so many other reasons why at the time.
But now, whenever I hear "Hey There Delilah" I get a warm wonderfully gooey feeling all over and I wish I had named her Delilah.
I love love love my girls name Amelia Quinn. Quinn is a family name (MIL's middle name, great grandmothers last name) And her initials are awesome, AQW And and and, I sing her that song "Cecilia, you're breaking my heart, your shaking my confidence...I'm down on my knees..." but replace the name with "Amelia" and it was very fitting during her unsleepy stage when she was teeny tiny.
I'm not exactly regretful, but the fact that my child's first name is Donald isn't my favorite thing about him. But since its DH's first name and FIL's first name, I get it. I do like when DS refers to himself as Donald Duck, that's pretty funny.

At this point I only sometimes wish I gave my dog a cooler name than "Lucky." Now that I know her, I would have named her "Lady." But then again, I do claim she was born on St. Patty's Day (it was some where around then) and she IS pretty damn lucky to have ended up with me as an owner instead of roaming the dusty streets of a Thai village for what would probably amount to a very short life. Ah... I love that dog SO damn much.
We are solid on a first name for our girl. I hope we don't regret it. It isn't trendy, sounds sophisticated, has some cute shortened version that can fit many different personality traits depending on how she turns out (one nickname is more fun, while one is more "athletic" or "tom boyish") The middle name we are stuck on. I know that doesn't really matter, but I'd like something either southern or non-traditional.

That's exactly what I wanted! Although Amelia is becoming quite trendy, so minus that part.

We didn't know it was trendy until afterwards. IN FACT: I declare, here and now, YOU AND I started the trend. So everyone else are poseurs.

Well really you started it. I just couldn't help myself because it's the best.name.everrrr Abigail is pretty awesome too. And I do like Delilah but I think of the radio talk show lady and "De-Lii-Laaaa" and cheesy requests from sad listeners. So I prefer Marcia. You and your man did good
I love you guys but Amelia is super trendy. And has been. Lol
<3
I dread picking names when the time comes. H is so annoying.
It's trendy right now but it's traditional at the same time. Kind of like my name 30 something years ago. And hubbys. How many damn Brians do you know? Which I also love.
Alzi you better get to pickin! And have you peed yet today???
I always wanted Katherine but then that damn Dutchess and her wedding and it was just too much that year. Maybe if I have a second girl. I have my boy name but it's a secret until that babies face sees the light of day!

Liz, I like Gabriel too I like Gabe. I also like Aiden, even though it's common.
There are some popular girl names that I just cringe at. I don't want to type them in case I offend anyone... haha. Well, one I will just go ahead and type. Kaylee. So over done.
No regrets here! Zoe was on our list of names, but we were going to name her Eva.....and you guys are hte only ones who know that! We may use it if we have another girl, so don't tell. When we saw her, we decided she was not an Eva at all, hence the reason why she didn't have a name for the first 36 hours or so of life. Zoe is more trendy than I would like, but it's trendier to spell it with a "y" and it's not exactly #1 like Jennifer was when I was born. I think it was 22 or something on the SS list.
H was reading the last Twilight book at the time and we were joking about her middle name. "Zoe Isabella" "Zoe Alice" "Zoe Renesmee" Zoe Renee" ........hmmmmm Zoe Renee.......I kinda like that........and there was her middle name, lol!!!

Eva is very pretty I think it sounds really nice to have daughters named Zoe and Eva, that is pretty.
I often like to imagine signing holiday cards with mine, MH's name and our hypothetical kids' names. so I always think of how the names all sound together
I guess I have some regret, but in a good way. We debated for a long, long time about Ellie's middle name before officially going with Elizabeth Alice. I had been pulling for Elizabeth Claire or Elizabeth Rose, but we chose Alice in honor of my MIL (who is awesome, so that's fine by me). I liked Alice just fine but it wasn't my favorite of our choices.
Now I have grown to love Alice so much that I almost wish we hadn't used it as Ellie's middle name, because I kind of wish it could be on the table as a first name for a hypothetical future second daughter!

I knew a family that did exactly that...They had one daughter FN MN: Marissa (this is why I was talking with them, they called "Marissa!" and I thought they were talking to me) And they liked the MN so much their next daughter was FN: Marissa MN Lastname.

I have the opposite of regret I guess. Beckett's middle name was not my choice. It is my H's middle name and the first name of H's father and grandfather. We felt obligated to use it for Beckett, and while it wasn't the name I would've picked it does go nicely. It made H's father very happy to have his first grandchild share his name. We lost my FIL very suddenly 2 years ago, so it means so much to us now that Beckett has the name of his papa he adored so much.

She seems like a wonderful dog. I'm glad you found each other. Maybe switch it up every once and a while and call her Lucky Lady, mehbee?
Aw Tasha that's so sad/sweet that he's a namesake now. MrsMew I think it is perfectly ok to have Alice as your next daughters name. It's a family name and something for her and her sister to share, I guess if Ellie is old enough to get her opinion it could be up to her if she wants to share, but I thInk it would be cool. I just asked H and he thinks it's "weird" but he doesn't know. Like jen812 said, men are stupid
Regret is probably too strong a word, but I sometimes think we chose the wrong middle name for Lily. We were between Anna and Louise for a middle name, both because they have family significance. We chose Anna. But ever since she was born, I've often called her "Lily Lu," just because I thought it was cute, and I guess I thought "Louise" was not very cute. I think I might've wanted to choose Louise, but it would've broken my mom's heart because Louise is my stepmom's name. It's also a family tradition on my mom's side, but I think it would have always bothered her. Fortunately, we also love the MN we chose, so it's cool.
I just want to say that I love that Moon talked about naming her dog. LOVE.
H now says he wished we didn't name the dog Max, bc he likes it for a kid. I told him it was too late lol
ROFL. I didn't realize this was in the "baby" category. ;D But H and I are pretty much obsessed with Lucky Squirrel McGee, so yeah I think of her as our baby. She is seriously the balls!

Thanks, Lauren! When we have another kid, their name definitely needs to sound good with Zoe.
