Yesterday at the vet I saw the cutest puppy in the waiting room while I was waiting for the x-ray results.
He was being picked up for surgery by a volunteer for the local Humane Society. He'd gotten fixed and had his leg amputated and it was all sewn up.
The poor little gimp had gotten run over by a car and someone scooped him up and brought him in.
I've been trying to talk myself out of calling to check on his availability. I really don't need another dog. Someone else will fall in love with him, I'm sure.
Honestly, though, pups like that get a lot of sympathy and will definitely find a home. If you were to get another one, I'd advocate for the less favored - like, an older dog, or a less favored breed. Chihuahuas and pitties are the most dog found in our shelters, I'm sure your shelters have least favorite breeds
We have two dogs and two cats.. I feel that any more would be.. insane..
Dude. You are correct!
It's nice that you enjoy taking care of other living things though...I'm reluctant to buy a basil plant because I would probably neglect it until it shriveled up and died.
