I bought a couple Yankee Candles in summer scents they are pretty disappointing. They don't put off any scent really. I haven't tried summer ones from B&BW but their fall and winter ones are awesome.
Mine too. I bought a whole bunch of Yankee and I could barely smell them even near them :-( Bbw fall ones are the best!!!

Y'all, for the record, Yankee has a "love it" guarantee. If you don't think your candle is strong enough or makes your allergies act up or its burning weird or you just changed your mind, take it to a retail store and they'll let you exchange it for another. I'd also suggest getting the 2 wick tumbler as opposed to the 1 wick jar if you want it to be really strong, it burns faster but will give off considerably more fragrance.
Also, @tambcat - the straight Lavender is actually one of the scents they brought back for the semi-annual sale so I'd call or check your local Yankee store to see if they have any left (I know mine does lol), they are half price!

I really like the Grapefruit one! I'm sad you didn't really like it. My favorite is Midsummer's Night.
I do like the smell when I hold it up to my nose, but it just doesn't smell like anything when it's burning.
When I was there for the sale, there was a dragon fruit one that smelled good and I think it might have more of a scent when burning than the grapefruit one. You should bring your candle back and exchange it for a different scent.

Does that only work at a stand alone store? I bought mine at a craft store.
Hmm, I'm not sure. You'd have to call and ask. verycontrary247 what do you know about this?

I have the Lavender Vanilla candle. Oh man it's smells so good. I'm a Yankee Candle junkie. I have about 40 of their candles sitting in my linen closet lol.
Also, I can't believe you had problems with Bahama Breeze! Does the room you are burning it in have high ceilings? I second the rec for Pink Dragon Fruit, and Fruit Fusion as well if you are going for something super strong. Get the 2-wick large tumbler.
A large jar from Yankee has 150 burn hours and costs 27.99 before any deals/coupons. A large tumbler (2 wicks) has 90 burn hours, same cost as the jar.
B&BW 3 wick candles cost 22.99 and only have 40 burn hours. They used to have 65 and about a year/year and a half ago they bumped it down- I noticed the change (it's printed on the bottom of the candle). Yes, they are strong, but if you burn them frequently like I do it's gone in like 3 days. You can get waaaaay more for your money and pretty much the same amount of fragrance by getting the Yankee large tumbler.
Also, B&BW are copying copycats. For instance, Yankee's #1 seller, Pink Sands. It's a pretty unique scent. Was in B&BW earlier this year, and their "brand new fragrance!" White Barn #5 was a straight rip-off. I've noticed a couple of our best-sellers end up as B&BW wanna-bes. Get your own goddamned fragrance ideas instead of stealing ours and just changing the name.

I like the BBW 3 wicks because they frequently have 2 for 22 sales that you can use a $10 off coupon on top of it, but that's shitty about stealing scents.
Hmm...my sister gave me a YC Summer Wish large jar as a housewarming gift. I like the scent when I stick my nose in the unlit candle, but when I light it...nothing. I just thought maybe it was a weak scent but now I'm thinking it's my high ceilings! That didn't occur to me until this thread. They're 11' so not outrageously high. Do you think that's why I can't smell this candle when it's lit?
Summer wish is a light scent to begin with, the high ceilings would exacerbate that problem. Trade it in for a large tumbler!
