Power of Attorney for purchasing a house?

Anyone have experience with this?

Did you type up your own form, or get it from somewhere?

We are going to have to do this because we can't both be at the closing for our new house...looking for ideas if I should just type something up on my own, or if there are other things I should consider.

I can't help with how to do it, but I know our sellers were out of state at closing and their REA signed for them writing something like Jane Smith on behalf of Jim and Sue Jones on each line. There was some kind of official note saying that Jane could sign.

I'm not sure how it works, but we just closed on a house and the sellers had to do this.

My agent had something for me to sign when I bought my house and was going to be out of town for the closing as well.
