Does anyone have a recommendation for a good dog backpack? I want to get Anna a pack so she can carry her own water when we go on hikes. It would be day use only, probably just for a few hours at a time. She's a 2 year old Anatolian Shepard, 107lbs at her last vet visit, and lean (but very tall). I've been looking at the Mountainsmith, the Kyjen Outward Hound and the Ruffwear Singletrak Hydraion pack. Does anyone have one of these? Love them/hate them?
Oooh! I don't know anything about these, but you've got me thinking about the first one you listed. I like the price and the size. The second one is priced well, but it looks like it covers up the dog's whole body.
Now I just need to convince hubby we need this, lol. We just rescued a black lab from the local animal control shelter and you wouldn't believe how much money we've dropped on her recently. Oh, well. Worth it!

I keep looking at the Outward Hound one for Dav for awhile but haven't actually bought it yet. Interested to hear the opinions of anyone who might have experience with one.
mala, have you purchased a doggy backpack yet? I saw this and thought of you. It's $20 off with the code "SPOILED." Not sure if it's a good one or not, but I figured I'd pass this info along.
we've used the mountainsmith pack for years with my golden. He's 80lbs and barrel chested, so the front and rear straps being able to independently adjusted is great. he loves it for trips to the farmer's market (he carried the squash home last week). i think it calms him to have a 'job' in crowds
