Two days ago I had to google who this guy was and today he is being charged with murder. What a lunatic.
"Hernandez "drove the victim to the remote spot, and then he orchestrated his execution," First Assistant District Attorney Bill McCauley said in court Wednesday."
Nuts. He had so much going for him, and decided to ruin his life. I read yesterday that they had DNA evidence because he left some chewing gum at the site. This whole thing was just senseless.
My H is fascinated with this story - he was telling me last night that he read that the defense may try to argue that he doesn't know right from wrong due to the repeated concussions he has sustained playing football. I don't buy that for a second.

I haven't read a whole lot about this yet, but is there a motive floating around? Just that Lloyd talked to people in a club that Hernandez didn't like? I know that the articles are saying he reportedly told his friends he couldn't trust anyone anymore. Not sure if I'm missing details or if they haven't been explained yet.

I had heard something about how him and they girl he was dating were having problems and hernandez said he would take care of it. I can't remember the source, so it could be completely wrong.
The texts gave me chills. He knew what was happening
I wonder if Hernandez was ranting or something in the car that made him realize something was really wrong. Especially if he was saying things along the line of "I can't trust anyone" earlier in the evening.

They are looking into potential gang relations with Hernendez. I guess they were going to analyze his tattoos because there were some that were suspicious? IDK how solid that rumor is.
Yeah I live in MA so this is all we are talking about up here. My FB has more about him than DOMA.
He's a disgusting human being. He shot the kid 5 times. 3 times after he was already dead. Hernandez will rot in jail.
They still haven't arrested the 2 other guys who were in the car. Which I mean, even if you didn't pull the trigger you are still seen on surveillance with guns and you were there. So that gets you shit too.
Someone on FB said that the "worst part of the Hernandez tragedy is his child will grow up visiting his father in jail." Um no. The worst part is that someone lost their life.
My H and I are both Patriots fans so we have been following this rather closely. AH had so much promise as a football player, too. I am trying to wrap my head around the whole thing.
I live in MA and his story has eclipsed all the news about the Whitey Bulger trial going on - now that's impressive!
Moron. The whole thing is sick. I'm interested to hear what "information" the victim allegedly spilled that lead to his murder. I bet it's related to this new investigation of a double murder in 2012.
They have arrested someone in CT in connection to the case - believed to be one of the two with him.
The news here is saying they are examining his tattoos for gang relations "for his own safety" in jail.
I heard about this and it might be the last straw with me and pro sports. I cannot take another person I used to root for turning out to be a monster IRL.
I do somewhat buy the concussion thing, though. Not that it excuses his actions, or that he shouldn't be punished for them, but there is growing evidence that playing football really fucks with your brain. There's an institute that studies ex-football players' brains (and they often die very early) and it has found evidence of widespread damage.
