I bought this Revlon hair dryer (Revlon RV408 1875) on Amazon last week - 4/5 star rating. The air never got hot and it left my hair a mess. I made sure to try all the heat settings, plus make sure that I wasn't accidentally hitting the cold air button - the air was lukewarm and it took forever to get my hair dry. I returned it.
I just went to Target to look at their options, which I checked against online reviews. I wound up buying the Conair Infiniti, which also has 4/5 stars on Amazon and 3.5.5 on Ulta.com. Does anyone have this dryer? Do you like it?
My sister is a hairdresser and said that Conair is generally a good brand - and I texted her that I'd bought it and she said that it ought to be fine. Plus, my old dryer (a cheapo model I bought at Walgreens maybe 10 years ago, and it only recently started sparking on me which is why I need a new one) was a Conair and I liked it a lot.
I have a really basic hairstyle so I wasn't looking for anything fancy ... the Revlon was about $14 and the Conair was $30, which is pretty much the most I was hoping to spend.
I agree with Here. I also have a lot of thick wavy hair and would burn through a cheap hair dryer or two a year. I had luck with a BaByliss and now have a Solia. Both were under $100. I'd suggest checking out Folica.com.
