I think M has a stomach bug. She had some gross diapers and a vomiting episode at midnight last night. After that, she slept all night and seems fine this morning. She had one dirty diaper a few minutes ago but it wasn't explosive like last night.
So, what should I do? Call the pedi? Just keep an eye on her? Avoid solids for the day? Help! I'm clueless.
Also, stripping the bed twice, being projectile vomited all over and having to give your baby 2 baths after you've been drinking all night SUCKS. In case you were wondering.
Yeah, that sucks! If she seems ok today, I would probably just take it easy and keep an eye on her. BUT - if you're concerned, call your ped, assuming they have weekend hours? Since it's Saturday, I wouldn't want her to get sick when the doctor's office is closed. Hope she feels better soon.
If she is eating and drinking OK (not getting dehydrated) and no fever and seems OK I'd watch her closely. If your Ped has Saturday hours I'd call and ask their advice. Of courses, ways listen to your instincts they're probably right and if if you feel like she needs to be seen do it.
Just make sure you push fluids today and don't worry too much about solids. If she doesn't have anymore episodes the first few hours of the day, I think you can give her a little something solid.
Any fever? Peeing and making tears - so, hydrated? If okay, wait and see. There is no prescription a doctor can give for a stomach bug.
If soiled sheets is an issue, it may be easier to layer sheets, with an protective layer between. So, at midnight, you can strip a soiled sheet off, revealing a clean one - than re-make it.
I tend to hold off on foods until vomiting subsides and then add mild, soft foods.
Fluids and introduce brat diet slowly. Pedialyte might help for electrolyte loss. Watch to make sure her urine output is decent. Watch for fever or lethargic behavior but she is probably fine with some fluids and TLC
