We are going on vacation is a couple of weeks and so will need to board Willow and Alfalfa. We want them both to be able to do half day doggie daycare every day. But Falf needed to pass their temperament rest to be able to attend We brought him in this morning. He did so great (they said he passed every point on the checklist) and was having so much fun, we left him there for about 4 hours.
4 hours + Falf running around like crazy + another terrier for him to tussle with = tired dog. I am LOVING it!
Right now I am on the couch with Willow sleeping on on side of me and Falf sleeping on the other. It is blissfully quiet.
I am thinking doggie daycare will be on the regular agenda for our crazy foster.
Aw! The true sign of an exhausted pup. Maybe he'll learn to play with better manners while he's there. They get to run around in fairly large packs at the one my dog goes to.
What's involved in the temperament test? I'd love to take one or both of my dogs, but they are both leash aggressive, and I don't know how they'd do off-leash.
ETA: I'm glad this has helped you! I was actually thinking of your situation last night when mine were fighting over a toy and were rrrrright on that line between just playing and truly fighting. It's exhausting!

They start off putting him in one of the kennels so he can get used to being in the company of other dogs.
Then they bring him into the daycare enclosure by himself to see what he does in the space, then they start to introduce him to the other dogs one by one.
All of this is done off leash. They actually take all collars off the dogs when they are in the enclosures. This is done so no one will get caught up on a leg or a rope or toy.
Given the issues that our silly dogs have, we have actually have asked that Willow and Falf not be in the daycare enclosures at the same time. So one will go before lunch and one will go after.
Doggie day care was the best thing we did for our dog when he was a puppy. It wore him out and also taught him how to play with other dogs. Now that we have moved, we tried a place near our house and when I went to pick him up, he had a shock collar on. Fuck that. We don't go back and there is no other place but we use the dog park.

Thanks for the info! That is such a smart/controlled way to do it. I'm going to have to look into this locally!

So glad it sounds like this will be a good thing for your dogs!
I wish we could take Rox to doggie daycare so she isn't alone all day. Maybe eventually, but right now she is pretty scared of strangers until she gets to know them (especially men) and very reactive to other dogs, so I don't think it would be a good idea
We are exploring doggy daycare/camp! Love a tired puppy. The one camp even has a bus that picks up and drops off the dogs. For real!!! best idea ever. My DH groaned. lol Another daycare has a pool pass available, although my girls do not like to swim, it is still cute.

Our daycare has the pick up/drop off too! It's awesome for people that work late and can't make it there before close to pick up their dogs.
Neekee is about to start puppy preschool. She just got all her shots. I am so excited. And, since we are insane, we are putting her in the best one on the west side, which is nowhere near our house, but I just couldn't leave her anywhere else. You want the best for your babies. If I ever wasn't a lawyer I might open a doggie daycare.
Dog day care is awesome! Quincy and Sadie go two full days a week and they love it. It's just enough to take the edge off their puppy energy, which Quincy still has a ton of at age 2. They post photos on their BF page, and I love watching them on the webcam. Plus they board there, so it's nice that if we have to be away from them for several days, we know they're at a place they love going and are comfortable.
