Last weekend, the attached erupted on my face. MY FACE. I had started using a new lotion-a generic of Neutrogena. When this popped up, I immediately quit using it. A week later, it is still hanging around. I have tried hydrocortisone cream, went back to a lotion I have used before, and even have been trying coconut oil (haha) attempting to get rid if it. It's not itchy. Doesn't hurt. Just ugly as hell, flaky, and, you know, ON MY FACE. It feels like major dry skin. Anyone have something similar? Any other ideas I'm forgetting?? Ignore the double chin.
It was hard to get a picture. It's more of a flaky patch with some areas redder than others. There's another spot on my forehead, and I'm getting a dry flaky spot above my right eyebrow now, too. It's not a pimple. Just this big ugly (seemingly spreading) patch.
My face honestly looks like this at least once a month. This is what my acne looks like when it's popped and then trying to heal. It flakes off. Sorry dude. I'm no help.
Since you did use a new lotion around the same time, I'd guess it's just a bad reaction. You could try it on your leg and see if the same happens (if you're feeling bold) or just go with the assumption that there is something in that lotion that your skin is pissed about.
I will try this in an inconspicuous area. It was the same ingredients as Neutrogena, which I've never had an issue using. But who knows, maybe something was just slightly different that pissed it off. It just had to be on my face. Concealer just makes it more obvious. It's so scaly and ugly.
If all else fails, I'll have to go to a dermatologist. I hate to do it, my insurance usually doesn't like specialists and it winds up costing me a fortune.
I had something super similar looking on my face two months ago, in the same spot. It turned out to be eczema and I needed two visits to the Derm to get it straightened out. The first steroid cream I was given made it worse, but then I got a medication for eczema that made it better almost instantly (elidel)
