I don't know about the hot/cold part, but I really like bamboobies nursing pads. They aren't as visible as the disposable ones.

Haven't tried those but another vote for their boob liners. Love them. Actually was just thinking today that I want to try making some this time maybe. (Out of bamboo fabric). We'll see how ambitious. I like theirs.
