I love fireworks. It's not the 4th for me unless I get to see some fireworks! My wife could care less. We're trying to figure out what to do on the 4th, her friends have something planned, but there aren't any fireworks involved. I'm bummed She almost always does what I want to do though, so I should really suck it up and go along with it.
We usually go outside and watch whatever fireworks are going off in the area. From our old place we could see the big city fireworks in one direction and the middle of nowhere illegal fireworks in the other direction without actually having to deal with the crowds of people downtown. Now that we're in a different city, though, we haven't decided what we're doing this year.
This will be my first year not watching fireworks, possibly ever. We usually watch them on the beach, but this year we'll be in Germany. I'm bummed because I love fireworks!
eta: Wait, I am still doing last-minute planning and apparently the town we're staying in our last night has a fireworks display three times a summer, one of which just so happens to be the night we're there. It won't be the 4th but it will do!

I used to. I love them. I'm too old and crotchety now. We'll have to start up again when W is older.
We went to our neighborhood ones all the time growing up, but I've also been the the Chicago and Boston fireworks (Cambridge side, not on the esplanade). My favorite was 2002 when Boston did a tribute to 9/11. It was really beautiful.
We will sit on the bridge of our boat, tied to our dock. We'll see great fireworks fromacross the bay at Cedar Point Amusement Park and we'll be able to see them from about 6 towns both East and West from us.
A lot of people anchor out off Cedar Point for the fireworks which is usually ok getting there 'cause it's stil light but by the time they are over it's dark and you can't see where the anchor lines from various boats are, you get idiots in small boats and dingies without lights.
Really looking forward to 4 days up there. Saturday our club does a poker run on the bay, then we'll have a steak fry and dance.
No in many years. Occasionally we will watch them from my IL's back porch on the 4th. Our city doesn't do them on the 4th, they do them at the home days, which is usually at the end of July. We do go and watch those.
No fireworks for us. They give DH flashbacks and horrible nightmares afterwards.
When we lived right across the street from where they went off in our old house, DH would always make sure to work really late that night so he would get home well after they finished.
Love fireworks! We get a great view of the Macy's fireworks from town. Last year it was totally packed so we are going to try to stake out a good spot by the waterfront early this year and just camp out.
We used to go into Boston every year. Now I'm too pregnant to even consider it, and they are restricting so much that I don't know how fun it will be. Fucking terrorists ruin everything.
No, too many mosquitos! Can you bring fireworks to whatever your friends are planning?
They want to go to a restaurant so no I'm hoping I'll be able to run outside and see some. There are tons of shows around town so the chances are good.

I'm not a big fireworks fan, but we will take DD since she will like it. Some of DH's coworkers were trying to get us to drive an hour to see some fireworks and I thought that was crazy. The local fireworks aren't on the actual 4th.
No. The way they're done here now is they're held at the little airport between our town and the next one over. There's only one way out of the airport so traffic becomes a huge mess. It took a couple of my coworkers over 2 hours to get home last year and it's maybe 2 miles outside of town, maybe. And with the way the interstate/overpass is set up you can't see the fireworks unless you get right outside the airport and then you're stuck in that traffic. And dh and I both have to work Friday morning so we have no desire to deal with that.
This will be the first time in about 15 years I'm not going to a fireworks display on the 4th. I love them. It's just such an absolute hassle with the traffic downtown, and my parents will be visiting, so we just figured it'd be easier to hang around the house. It is our first year being in a house for the 4th, so we wanted to cook out and what not in our backyard. Plus, it's our first year having a dog, and with how skittish she is, I'm worried she will be super scared with all the fireworks going off
Hopefully we can go back to watching them next year. Also, our local baseball stadium regularly does fireworks on weekend games that rival most cities' 4th of July display, so we can see fireworks shows quite often.
