Cleaning dirty grout

My grout is practically white but has turned black in my kitchen in 2 short years from mopping it so much. I just scrubbed half the area with simple hot water and blue Dawn and it is AMAZING that it came perfectly clean. I just want to stare at my floor now.

Did you mix the water and Dawn? Or put the Dawn directly on the grout? My floors are in need of a deep cleaning!

I mixed it so it was really sudsy. Just about a cup of hot water and a squirt of Dawn. I never thought the grout would be white again. I'm seriously happy.

I think it depends on the kind of stains they are. I tried it in my shower and it didn't work but the grout in my shower is stained orange/red from the galvanized plumbing we had before we re piped the entire house. It didn't get that stuff out. It did get a lot of soap stains and just dirty stains out on the tub really easily though. .
