Deep breathes with an exhale sound. Nice and long exhale sound. Be alone to do this so you can really go with it and not feel like an ass. Close your eyes and do it. A lot.
I have a non-essential tremor (form of Parkinsons). My hands shake normally. It's OUT OF CONTROL when I'm super nervous about something (I honestly don't get nervous often). While it never goes away, even something as simple as 3 sips of wine help immensely.

I sing. Sounds stupid, I know. But singing really calms me and helps me relieve stress. I usually go on youtube and put on my favorite karaoke and go to town.

If I am feeling nervous I try to do something that will keep my mind total occupied. TV, internet, and books don't do it for me. Puzzles, chess, certain computer games, are the best for me.
