Happy 4th of July, lol. Now that you've enjoyed your fireworks, here's a question about birth control. So, I've been on Junel, the 21-day pack, for 6 months. I take it every night before bed (right around 11 pm). This month, I took the last active pill about 16 hours late, but all else has been normal. I started the pack a day or two early. BF pulls out every time (sorry, TMI, ugh.)
Well, I was supposed to get my period either yesterday or today at the latest (I start a new pack Sat), and it's a no-show. I've had cramps, the withdrawal headaches I usually get on the "off-week," bloating, and mood-swings, but no period.
Intellectually I know pregnancy would be a miracle, and everything I've read suggests that this might be normal, but if it's ever happened to you and you didn't give birth 9 months later, I'd love to hear about it, lol.
My period was about a day and a half late once while I was on the pill. It was supposed to start my first day of freshman orientation at college, and I was panic stricken when it didn't. My period was just adjusting itself even though I'd been taking it the same way. I think my period would be all over the place if I started a pack early.
Yeah. Although I'll occasionally get the short/light period, it's never not shown up altogether.
Then I'd pee on a stick to be on the safe side. It has happened to me when my bcp wasn't strong enough and I have super irregular periods and this would happen regularly without it(and sometimes I wouldn't even get cramps). Have you been stressed at all lately? Stress can mess with your hormones and cause you to miss a period. I'd also talk to your GYN about possibly trying a new bcp if you are not pregnant. Also, some bcps can lighten your period quite a bit. I'm sure it is rare, but some might even stop your period if they are normally light. TLDR?: Pee on a stick and call your GYN.
I had a few cycles where I was late by 1 or 2 days even while taking BCP religiously (different brands). It's not abnormal, especially if you've had any change in life circumstances (jet lag, lost/gained a little weight, stressed at work, whatever). If you're really nervous, then take a pregnancy test. At least then you'll know for sure and can stop worrying about it.
You're not even really late though, right? I would wait a day or two and see.
I know you're right! I'm being a crazycakes.
midnightrae, It was a stressful month. I've had a lot of changes in my sleep schedule and was very emotionally stressed out earlier this month because of some work stuff, but I thought I'd "evened out" in the last two weeks.

That might be it then. I hope this month is less stressful. Hopefully your period gets here soon.

Thanks, lady. Hopefully the next month will not require a separate thread on GBCN to talk me down!
