i haven't followed very closely, but what i'm hearing concerns me too.
do you really think the US will cut off all aid?
i'm just glad that one of my good friends from college no longer lives there. she was there for the first major uprising and had to evacuate the country for a while till it was safe for her to go back. she's now safely in england!

The people I made friends with there are all very happy, as well as my Egyptian coworker. I am leery of news coverage now considering when Benghazi happened I was in Egypt, and what was being shown on the news versus reality was completely different.
I'm feeling cut off - one of my coworkers is Egyptian and he always gives us the rundown on what is actually happening from contact with family there, etc. He's on holidays for the next two weeks (not in Egypt) so I won't know!
That being said, he is Coptic and was against many of the pieces of legislation that the Morsi government was introducing. He has been very concerned for the past 4 or 5 months about the direction things were going there so I'm pretty certain he saw this coming. He's concerned that it will turn into a civil war in some of the provinces where the Islamists have a stronger hold.
Let's just say that the BF and his colleagues, who all work on 'terrorist stuff' (can't say more, but they are all DOD related in both their daily and reservist jobs) are very, very happy this is happening.
